People may change over time but later realize that they might miss their old selves. People may not think of the past but your brain saves those memories. Relying on your past may be good also,if you think you’re making a personal mistake you can always look back at your past to see if you’ve made that mistake before. Sometimes you may start thinking about an old activity you used to do and may want to give that activity one more try. Some people may not care if they’ve changed over time but that’s just them.
The mother from the poem “Without Title” no longer wanted to continue with her family’s tradition, she wanted the family to become a city family.”When he brought home his horns and hides my mother said to get rid of them”(39). This quote states that she no longer wants anything to do with the tradition in her house. My friend’s father wanted him to join football but my friend wasn’t interested in football, he liked to play basketball instead. My friend’s father was in a football team, his father was in a football team also. My friend told his father he didn’t want to play football,he wanted to play basketball instead. So he

Sergi always liked to be alone with his magic goldfish. One day a kid came to Sergi’s house to ask him what he would wish for if he found a magic goldfish. The kid saw Sergi’s goldfish and rushed towards it without knowing it was the magic fish he spoke about. “Sergi became protective of his magic fish and would not think twice about getting physical”(6). Sergi changed after he found the magic goldfish and moved away from Russia. He thought people would want to steal his magic goldfish. When I was younger one of the kids that moved into my neighborhood was very protective of his toys. I asked him why he was so protective over them. He replied,” Where I used to live the kids would steal my
She was merely teaching her son a lesson, or maybe she was scolding him, and using that as a life lesson. Either way, she was the inspiration for the poem. I was unable to locate online the reason that the poem was initially written - however, I can only assume that he is remembering a time when his mother was right, and he’s wishing he had listened. Maybe he is now older, wiser, and faced with a decision where he wants two things equally, and needs to make a decision.
Ultimately, it goes without saying that the past is a place we cannot revisit and because of this every event, that have happened in life before, will make an influence on it. Moreover, some things might change person's life in drastically way. However, people should understand that everything what happened in the past - stays in the past, and there is no reason to worry about bad occasion that already gone and relieve all negative emotions again.
Initially, your past and present affect one in many ways, just like it did for Joseph Suina. In “ And Then I Went to School” by Joe Suina. When he was young he loved his language, his way of living. But after he started going to school, reading cliche books about kids with nice lives, he started to doubt his lifestyle. He used to love his house, and his Native language but now he does not speak it as much. After he is already older in a boarding school, he realizes how much he misses home
Part of it may have been because of his lack of interest in his studies, but he also had family obligations. “Sometimes he had to stay home to take care of his half-sister Iiesha while his mother was working.” When Allen entered high school he was thinking about the possibility of playing professional sports. He wanted to get his mother and sister out of the project. He started on the football and basketball teams his freshman year.
In order for an individual to thrive, they must continue to rebuild themselves and let go of the past, however, that is simply unrealistic. The past can be binding, manifesting itself in every aspect of the present and the future. It can hold back happiness and growth.
The Red Lionfish (Pterois volitans) is an invasive saltwater predator that is increasing exponentially in the tropics of the western Atlantic (Benkwitt, 2013). The Lionfish invasion is causing a dramatic decline in native marine reef species due the gluttony of the lionfish.
As Miller and Wilson revealed, athleticism is not always analogous with success. Willy regarded Biff highly because he observed Biff’s presence and athleticism, and he believed these qualities would result in immediate success. Today many parents associate sports with success and therefore pressure their children to excel in sports. In today’s society it is very rare that fears of discrimination would cause children to not pursue a lucrative career in sports. Both Miller and Wilson knew the impact of sports on family dynamics, and how sports have evolved from a leisure time activity to a full-time commitment. Clearly, many of the qualitative aspects of sports--competition, teamwork and physical dexterity can contribute to being a success in almost any career.
There is a saying that goes “don’t live in the past” because things will always get better in the future and that you should let time work itself out. People often think of their pasts and let that dictate their future, which in many cases keeps people from achieving their full potential. People become blinded by their pasts and the good memories they’ve had which turns to them seeking the same thing to satisfy themselves because they’ve become comfortable and do not want change. They may not want change because they are scared of what is to come or because of getting hurt again like they have in previous experiences. A prime example of this is Erykah Badu’s song “Bag lady” as it explains how people should let go of their pasts and look to the future.
From a young age, my parents have always focused on teaching me to be the best person I can possibly be. Life skills, discipline, and good morals highlighted the long list of qualities my parents believed I should practice and aim to perfect. However, the most important thing to realize and accept, according to my parents, is that life will not always go how you want it to go, and that one can never dwell on the past. Being a football player, I had always heard that high school football was politically based, that the coach's favorite players would be given more opportunities than others. Upon hearing such assertions, I had trouble believing this to be true, that the best player deserves to start regardless of the popularity of the athlete. Despite my initial perspective, when I finally worked my way to a spot on the varsity football team, I realized that high school football was not what I thought it was,
...r past with little or no regrets and will be satisfied overall. If a person is unsuccessful in this phase they will feel that they wasted their life and they will only think of regrets. They will feel despair (Cherry, 2011).
In many families, both parents have day jobs, leaving the student with nor ride to or from practices and games. In addition to both parents having jobs, sometimes neither parent has a job, therefore they cannot afford a car or gas to constantly run the student to and from practice. Many families also have get togethers throughout the year to celebrate various things, leaving the student the difficult decision to choose between sports and family.
Too much time spent in the past may cause more damage to the
The ability to stay in the present is a virtue. Most people are always living either in the past or in the future. So they are either worrying about the past, worrying about the past pains, the past results, the past failures, past relationships, past struggles or they are ruminating about the future fears, the future impossibilities, the future achievements, future possibilities. Worrying about the past or future would not benefit as you are putting yourself in a position of disadvantage. This is because thinking about the past losses or failures cannot change what has happened and ruminate about the future is not going to make that dream possible. I am going home.
