Pieces of glass shattered like rain drops from the walls, as I smashed every single belonging that my boyfriend owned. Pictures of our love affair were ripped to shreds, as the tears flowed over my cheeks. His clothes were stolen, they were meant for me to look at, not some cheap trick he found while he was astray. The bedroom, once pristine and so put together was now rubble lying on the floor, just like our relationship. I couldn’t help but feel sick from what I done, I acted on impulse, I didn’t think, I destroyed my lovers house. Had I taken time to address my problem with different options, the result might have been more positive. It is important to learn how to solve problems in a positive educated manner, critical thinking classes teach you how to do this. If all people were required to take classes, everyone’s positive choices could make a positive impact on society. This is why I think we should pass a law requiring everyone to take a class every other month. People who are educated about thinking critically are often more likely to be more involved in community events such as charity events, town meetings, and voting. Critical thinkers are more likely to discuss controversial topics such as politics and public policy, making them more involved citizens (Critical Thinking Explained). Isn’t this the type of society that we want to live in, one where people care enough to be involved? Most people want to be involved, but how can they if they are not informed about what’s going on around them. More importantly, how can people be informed if they don’t care to know what’s around them? Thinking critically encourages people to think about topics from other viewpoints, it helps them learn, and it helps them care... ... middle of paper ... ...k about issues outside our box, and this creates knowledge. If people are aware of the issues around them, they are more likely to care and show compassion to each other, this can only lead to a stronger society. Although classes will take time and effort, they will improve people’s overall decision making, leading to a less stressful and more positive life. We should all start thinking critically now; we need to be open to the idea of making it a law to take classes to make our lives healthier, and our world a better place.
