The Whole Truth Movie Review The whole truth (2016) was an American drama mystery film which directed by Courtney Hunt and written by Nicholas Kaan. It starred Keanu Reeves as Richard Ramsey, Gabriel Basso as Mike Lassister, Gugu Mbatha Raw as Janelle Brady , Renee Zellweger as Loretta Lassiter, and Jim Belushi as Boone Lassiter. It was filming in 2014 and was released on October 21, 2016. This film was about lawyer Richard Ramsay agreed to defend the son of Loretta (who he falls in love with) after he was accused of killing his prominent and abusive father (Boone Lassiter). However, Ramsay quickly realized that the case was more complecated than what he thought. The client (Mike) refused to talk to him (because at that time Mike was trying to analyze the situation to find who actually had killed his father) until oneday he finally said something unexpected which had a big impact to the jury’ decision. While Ramsay used the evidence to get his client acquitted, then his new partner tried to analyze further and began to realize the whole truth in this case, everybody was lying. …show more content…

With neat turns around every plot point, “The Whole Truth” uses a natural anxiety emanating from a courtroom setting to strengthen the suspense. There is no fancy or over setting, it is basically very “real” and has a simple style and it works for this kind of film. The scenarios, dialogue, setting are all well-handled and thought out, it makes you think twice because everything can not be possible be as it seems. It is playful with many times winding road and cuted scene to the end, all pieces of pule are there to guess. However there is no way to solve the mystery with the clues given. That is the failing of this movie, but the acting is pretty good. One more good point to this film is that the moving of the plot success keeps the curiousity of the viewers about who actually the murderer is till the end of the
