Change is from within. How does one become so glorious and victorious and overcome such battles? The day he never thought even existed becomes reality in a blink of an eye. His own mother, murdered in cold blood right in front of him. He watches as the knife pierces her skin, her eyes slowly closing but not before looking at her son and saying 3 meaningful words “I love you”. The Vampire Diaries is the perfect example of the one and only “Healing Myth” because it portrays Stefan’s broken beginning, the brutal catalyst, and the powerful archetype. The beginning of something incredible to witness. Love can drive many away. Love drove Stefan away for many reasons. The upbringing of young Stefan was horrific. Not being able to be his true self around anyone. Abused daily by his father because of his mother’s sudden death which tore him apart. Escaping pain is easier said than done. The battles just become more difficult as you learn from previous experiences. The person that no one expected to come from the past shows up stronger than ever. The last encounter was violent. The wound still seeps through the fabric, unfortunately. The unforgiving and cruel brother returns. The torment has just begun. Damon the antagonist in this case ruins another chance of a normal life for Stefan. Impeccable timing because it felt that Stefan was healing in a way. Life is completely different when both are immortal and cannot die anytime soon. The challenge one must face in order to have a normal and suffice life. There is always that one individual that just does not want to let go of what done is done. Everyone faces this problem in the world. Jealousy does not look good on anyone.
