Introduction:
This is about the story of the Pasco Family, especially the family of Pedro Jorolan Pasco. Originally the Pasco Family comes from the island of Siquijor. There were 10 brothers and two sisters. Since the way of living in Siquijor was not that good. Economically, it was not that easy to maintain their livelihood. Thus, they migrated to Bohol, Mindanao, and some even to Luzon.

I. Pasco Family Background

A. Dad’s Background
My father, Dale, was born in Mountain View College, while my grandpa and grandma were there. The reason why my father is called Dale was because he was born in laundry valley, part of the school campus. “Dale” means valley.
His lineage comes from Mindanao, particularly in Lake Apo, Ginuyoran, Bukidnon. …show more content…

Pasco is the 6th child out of 10 children. His mother, Fausta Jorolan, gave birth to fifteen children, but only ten survived and became adults. My grandfather, Pedro, was a hardworking student. He worked in the Abaca Department making abaca fibers. Mountain View College had a program, work education, in which the student earned his education from work credits. The number of hours worked had a corresponding money value which was used to pay the tuition fee of the student. He finished his ACS, Associate in Commerce Services, sometime in the early 1960s. She was unable to finance the tuition. Medical school tuition fee is expensive. An ordinary schoolteacher treasurer and school matron would not be able to provide finances for someone in a medical school. But my dad was determined and persistent. Grandma gave him a chance to study for one year.
In June 1980 my dad went to Cebu from Mountain View College to proceed to medicine and enrolled at SWU MHAM College of Medicine.

He studied very hard knowing that his parents could not afford to send him to school the following year. He was very diligent, studying regularly everyday, reading a bible verse before opening his huge textbooks, except Friday night until Saturday night. He studied for six days a week. During the finals in first year medicine he was exempted in 5 subjects something that he did not accomplished before.
Summer came after finishing first medicine; he passed all of his subjects. He went to take a vacation in Manila with his cousins since his parents are out of the country. While there, he was kind of sad since there was no word from his parents that he would be able to enroll in second year medicine.- Me
