On Christmas Eve, December 24th, 1945, a fire destroyed the Sodder family home in Fayetteville, West Virginia. At this time, five out of ten of the Sodder children went missing. Some believe the children died in the fire, but some agree they were kidnapped. There was no trace of them. Investigations have found clues to prove this theory. Without a doubt, the Sodder children were kidnapped. Much evidence has been found that these five children were kidnapped. One thing is, when searched for after the fire, there were no human remains left whatsoever in the leftover embers. According to video evidence, "after the house burnt completely to the ground, nothing was found. No questions were answered. No human remains were found in the remnants of the fire." This evidence shows, the children were not at the home and trapped in the fire. Following, according to Buzzfeed Unsolved, "when flesh is burned away, bones are still left behind. There was no smell of burning flesh after the fire." This evidence shows, it was confirmed they did not die in the fire. This evidence therefore concludes, it would be impossible for the five children to cremate during this fire. …show more content…

According to Reddit, "at least two visitors prior to the fire suggested the house might catch fire someday." This evidence proves, the visitors had to do with the disappearance of the children, knowing and implying the fire would happen. Furthermore, a life insurance salesman also criticized George, the father, a said, "You are going to be paid for the dirty remarks you have making out about Mussolini." This evidence shows, the salesman could've had part in the kidnappings. He threatened George, this might have been his "punishment."
