In the Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut, Vonnegut is trying to explain the meaning of
life. The human experience of trying to find a purpose in life while still trying to maintain a
personal identity is a struggle that most people come across during their life. Rumfoord becomes
aware of past and future events when he enters the chrono-synclastic infundibulum. He is able to
predict events and they will come true as long as he is not deliberately lying. Life is a test from
God to see how different people deal with different obstacles or problems thrown at us. Malachi
Constant has been brainwashed seven times, but he still does not give up on trying to keep his
same values about what he believes in is right. In conclusion, everyone

struggles to find the meaning of life during their life, and the answer to the meaning of their life reflects on the type of person that they are.
Rumfoord becomes aware of past and future events when he enters the chrono-synclastic
infundibulum. He is able to predict events and they will come true as long as he is not
deliberately lying. If you tell the truth, or what you believe is the truth, good things will happen
to you. Vonnegut explained through the characters in the book that, “[If you] [t]ake care of
people, [that] god almighty will take care of himself.” As long as you are being a good person,
good things will happen to you. Rumfoord is able to exist on both Titan and Earth at the same
time which explains why he is able to predict future or past events, “Winston Niles Rumfoord’s
entrance into the chrono-synclastic infundibulum allowed him to exist simultaneously on Titan
and also occasionally on Earth.” A lot of the time, many people think that others are wrong about
certain things happening in their life but you cannot just judge them because you do not think
that they are right. “Now, you can say your Daddy is right and the other little child's Daddy is
wrong, but the universe is an awfully big place. There is room enough for an awful lot of people
to be right about things and still not agree” said Vonnegut through the characters in the book.

In conclusion, judging people before you know the whole truth is a very bad thing to do, it is like judging a book by it’s cover.
Many people believe that life is a test from god to see how people deal with difficult
obstacles and problems that are thrown at them. All of the characters in the book are being tested
by the people around them, but they never fail in making sure that others are okay, “It took us
that long to realize that a purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love
whoever is around to be loved.” Many believe that there is not a meaning to life and that god put
you on earth to be a part of the meaning of life. “Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning
and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.” said
Joseph Campbell. A lot of people question as to why they suffer or others suffer if there is a
meaning to life. Viktor E. Frankle said, “If there is meaning in life at all, then there must be
meaning in suffering” he is explaining that there must be a meaning in suffering because there
would be no reason for it to just happen to people if there really is a God. In conclusion, life may
be a struggle but everything happens for a
reason. Malachi Constant has been brainwashed seven different times but he still does not give up on trying to keep his same values about what he believes is right and I think that this is how everyone should go about life like. Malachi constant never gave up, he knew that there was a purpose for him being alive and he always worked to try and find the answer to that. “I believe that I am not responsible for the meaningfulness or meaninglessness of life, but that I am responsible for what I do with the life I’ve got.” Herman Hesse is explaining that you must not give up and you must always work for your life to make sure you are being the best self you can. If Malachi Constant were to give up, then he would become more likely to give up again in future things that happen to him, “Sooner or later, [constant] believed, the magical forces of the universe would put everything back together again. They always did.” If you quit, you never know what could have happened if you had stuck it out and did not quit. “In the beginning, God became the Haven and the Earth… And God said, ‘Let Me be light,’ and He was light.” This would not have been true if God did not stick it out and be true to himself. In Conclusion, you must always believe in yourself and never give up on yourself just like Malachi Constant did. The human experience of trying to find a purpose in life while still trying to maintain a personal identity is a struggle that most people come across during their life. Rumfoord becomes aware of past and future events when he enters the chrono-synclastic infundibulum he is able to predict events and they will come true as long as he is not lying. Life is a test from God to see how we deal with difficult obstacles and problems that are thrown at us. Malachi Constant has been brainwashed seven times but he still does not give up on trying to keep his same values about what he believes is right. In Conclusion, life is something that everyone struggles to find the meaning of life during their own life, and the answer they find reflects on the type of person that they are.
This omniscient point of view allows Vonnegut to tell the reader about events on Earth and on the alien planet of Tralfamadore at any given point in space and time giving the reader insights as to the characters’ perceptions
I think one thing that Vonnegut is trying to show us is that man too easily accepts things as valid without questioning. Refering to this, Newt, another character, says, "No wonder kids grow up crazy. A cat's cradle is nothing but a bunch of X's between somebody's hands, and little kids look and look and look at all those X's…No damn cat, and no damn cradle" (114).
...s. Vonnegut points out truth in the small diversionsof life like the Boko-maru while pointing out the absurdity and falsehood of the large diversions.

"People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think that what we're seeking is an experience of being alive...." Joseph Campbell made this comment on the search for meaning common to every man's life. His statement implies that what we seem bent on finding is that higher spark for which we would all be willing to live or die; we look for some key equation through which we might tie all of the experiences of our life and feel the satisfaction of action toward a goal, rather than the emptiness which sometimes consumes the activities of our existence. He states, however, that we will never find some great pure meaning behind everything, because there is none. What there is to be found, however, is the life itself. We seek to find meaning so that emptiness will not pervade our every thought, our every deed, with the coldness of reality as the unemotional eye chooses to see it. Without color, without joy, without future, reality untouched by hope is an icy thing to view; we have no desire to see it that way. We forget, however, that the higher meaning might be found in existence itself. The joy of life and the experience of living are what make up true meaning, as the swirl of atoms guided by chaotic chance in which we find our existence has no meaning outside itself.
After reviewing the work of David Hume, the idea of a God existing in a world filled with so much pain and suffering is not so hard to understand. Humes’ work highlights some interesting points which allowed me to reach the conclusion that suffering is perhaps a part of God’s divine plan for humans. Our morals and values allow us to operate and live our daily lives in conjunction with a set of standards that help us to better understand our world around us and essentially allows us to better prepare for the potential life after life. For each and every day we get closer to our impending deaths and possibly closer to meeting the grand orchestrator of our universe.
e. Tala - There's always a purpose to your life. You live for the same reason the way that some people die for some reasons. Where you are today is a combination of all your past actions, decisions, as well as those of the people around you and how they have affected
...what one does. God hopes that everyone lives a good, generous life. Everyone should perform actions from their hearts, because if one is forced to do something it is not love. For instance, throughout life one is taught that being there for the other or a friend is something that is out of love and is the significance of friendship. Everyone should be friends with the poor, get to know them, and lend a helping hand.
To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life”.- Walter Mitty (Movie).

What is the meaning of life? Well known Greek philosphers such as Socrates and Plato believed that our purpose in this life was to gain knowledge in preparation for the next life. Other Philosophers such as Epicurus believed that pleasure is the main goal in life. After giving these ideas lots of thought, I have come to my own conclusion that the true meaning of life is far more complex than either of these; far too complex for any human to fully comprehend. In fact these two different philosophies are only part of the grand picture. If it were that easy for men to figure out our lives wouldn't be so messed up now. The meaning of life revolves around many different things. I think these things include: self-understanding, development of mind and soul, and an afterlife.
There is no true definite meaning to life. It’s just living. Consider life like your favorite kind of donut. If someone offers you the donut, you’re not going to turn it down, even if you know it’ll be gone in a few bites. You eat it, and you don’t really start to consider the flavor until you have only a few bites left, and you savor those last few bites and then it’s gone. That’s what life is like. You don’t realize how little time you had until it’s almost over and then you enjoy life as much as you can before you
Our lives are a gift from God and all life on our planet is given by
The meaning of life is a very confusing question but to be able to answer it you must realize that it differs for everyone. There is never only one real answer. Everyday it can change for each individual. Everyone has their own way of living; they have their own thoughts and beliefs so therefore each persons answer to the meaning of life will be their own private version.
