Title: The school thief I was in the mudroom of my 2nd grade class at Century Park Learning Center I was eight years old and was in Ms.Kopec´s class. I was alone the mudroom was quiet except the shouts of children on recess. I had told my teacher I had to go to the bathroom but I really didn't I needed to get a pencil out of my backpack my teacher said if we didn't have our supplies she would mark us tardy and I didn't want to be tardy. As I shuffled through the bottom of my backpack I finally found a pencil I was heading back to my classroom when out of the corner of my eye I saw a D´s at the bottom of a cubby. So I grabbed it and opened it and there was a pokemon game in it. I thought it would be fun to play it but I had to get back to class so I put it in my backpack so I could do it later and headed back to class. The school day went by and I didn't touch the D´s in my backpack, I got on the bus and immediately went to the back and pulled it out and started playing it. At that time i was not thinking because my brothers went to my school and my brother caught me with it, I told him that I found it but he took it away from me. Through the text we follow her living in war times and experience her realisation to the true nature of the German people. The point of view of this novel is third person omniscient and a little bit of second and first person when the narrator talks about himself or to the reader. The setting of the story is Nazi Germany and it is based on a young girl named Liesel Meminger and what her life was like during this time. Her story is told by the narrator, death. Mark Zusak, the author, uses setting and point of view to express the theme of the novel because there was so much death happening, Liesel encountered him so many times, causing him to be able to tell her story; without this setting and the narrator, the theme story would have been different.
