In today’s world technology has evolved and is still evolving to better for everyone in the world. Most importantly from what I saw music technology to what artists use have done a phenomenal out take on the way it brought out music production. Within this music programing on computers plays a big role.
There are many computer programs used in music and by music artists. “Music notation software has been around for more than two decades, and during that time, many programs have appeared and disappeared”(7:Thompson).One of programs known is Finale which is music notation software that uses playback, lets artist compose parts and also edit sounds within dynamics. It's currently in use by a majority of organizations, schools, and independent artists and composers. This program also has brought out even success too.
Finale was made by a company known as MakeMusicInc. which founded in 1988 by Phil Farrand who wrote Nitpicker's guides for Star-Trek and X-files. He also wrote the original coda music software which then became MakeMusicInc. After every year, Finale releases a newer version of their software. Their latest software is Finale 2014 for Windows and Macintosh.
Finale has over 200 instruments built in with human playback and variety from different parts of the world. The price of Finale is in between $249 to $599 depending on version from academic to the professional version. Prices are usually lower for just when user doing an upgrade from older version to a new one. Prices also depend on operating systems they’ll be used on. With this in mind it gives people different choices on what to use.
The purposes for the artists and organizations using this software is to bring in on some of a more realistic feel and sound ...

Artists like Timbaland, Soulja Boy, Basshunter, Afrojack, and Fabolous use FL studio for their tracks. Also 9th wonder who is major hip-hop producer in the U.S. has often made instrumentals through this program. For many artists and producers, the software has made their lives simpler just literally doing things within a click instead of moving so many controls.
Avicii who has been known as one of the top Swedish DJ’s around uses FL studio for most of his work. He was first introduced to the software when he was 18 by friend in high school and then instantly hooked onto bringing more of his music (19: Ware). Most of the production is by just many lops he’s created to then overlap within around his instrumentals. FL studio believe it or not also came out on version 10 that featured some of Avicci sound effects.
Dogg and Dr. Dre (Placid n.p.). He made some songs and music videos with them that made it big on the Billboard charts. This really helped his popularity. He released a double CD with the songs on it and a lot of his own songs and sold millions of copies (u.a., n.t., n.p. letter code D) More people were influenced to buy his CD.

Polyphonic is operating on a “shoestring budget” of $150,000. The company is not helped by initial discussions about HSS with potential customers, which have resulted in cold receptions, at best, about the product’s potential application to the music processes despite its multiple strengths.
I’ve always thought it would be cool to be able to compose my own music. In junior high I played the trombone for two years and it really wasn’t my idea of making music. I want to be in the same seat that big producers like Avicii, Will.I.Am., and Dr. Dre are in, and have the same resources available to me as they do. Out of curiosity I decided to look for other ways to compose a song… I found Fruity Loops.
When it comes to recording in a modern day environment DAW’s (digital audio workstation) are an essential piece of equipment if professional standard results are desired. Although DAW’s are considered a modern technological advancement the first attempt at a DAW was in 1977 and it came from Dr. Tom Stockham’s Soundstream (See references for full description) digital system. It had very powerful editing capabilities and for its time a very advanced crossfader but was still primitive compared to today’s standard. At this moment there are 100’s of DAW’s on the market but arguably there some obvious leaders. Avid’s Pro Tools has been the go to DAW for any professional studio for the past 20 years and although there have been rumors of Avid going out of business and the features in Pro Tools becoming dated, Pro Tools is still a viable option for studios worldwide. Logic Pro has risen to the fore-front of the industry in recent years due to its easy to use interface that is possible of producing professional results. Ableton Live strays away from a hardware instrument music environment to cater for electronic music users. Audio to MIDI is a main focus along with the critically acclaimed Max for Live used for live performances by many current EDM artists. Each individual DAW has its own pros and cons and comparing these can highlight which DAW is the best for what task.
A music producer writes, arranges, producers and records songs for other artists or for their own project. Working as a producer can be time consulting with the late hours the long days in the studio. Some music producers work from 6am-10pm every day in the studio. Being a music producer can be hard work because sometimes your clients is busy or doing something stupid like shopping or skiing or surfing so you are the who has to take the blame and face the consequences for not getting the single or album done when it is due to be released. When recording music you must always listen to what the client wants and go with it because it is his or her song so you go with whatever decision they make you have to go with it. Up to 80% music producers are fired over the months and the rest of the 20% fight for their jobs so they can get paid. Most producers get paid according to how the song and the artist is. If the artist is willing to go the far mile then he / she and the producer are going to end up being the biggest in the city or the biggest in the world because he / she is committed to doing the job. Not only the artist get a lot of money but the producer gets tones of money and tones of credit around and then you end up earning more than your average salary.
In 2007, founders Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss started SoundCloud to fufill their need for a simple music-sharing platform. Inspired by other simplified media companies such as twitter, vimeo, and flickr- they felt that music had been left out of this innovative shift towards technology-assisted collaboration. As co-founder Alex Ljung explains, “it was just really, really annoying for us to collaborate with people on music — I mean simple collaboration, just sending tracks to other people in a private setting, getting some feedback from them, and having a conversation about that piece of music.”(Van Buskirk). With this idea, they set out to create a space where people could share music and receive feedback in a way not offered by current music sharing sites. Now a worldwide company with offices in Berlin, San Francisco, New York, London, and Sofia they have over 10 million registered users, with countless more directed to their site everyday (SoundCloud). Moving beyond music file sharing, the company now has a mobile application and several levels of profile options, from a free user to a professional artist. With constant updates and a sleek design, SoundCloud has truly become one of the best website to upload, share, and explore music.
The idea that music is information tends to turn people's heads. The art of information stands as the largest growing field in both business and society. How does the age-old art of music fit into this category? Can music even be considered information? The rising popularity of mp3's proves that people value music as a source of information. Hundreds of groups are advertising their band on the web at mp3.com, from popular music groups to those struggling to make a name in society. The web sites serve as a vehicle for bands to display their message to the public in an uncensored atmosphere. This atmosphere cannot be presented solely through record labels because the labels monitor what the public sees. Music speaks to the public through its words and sound. Musicians use the web as a source to present the information their music holds.

With each passing year, technology has become highly involved in our lives, and continues to at a rapidly increasing rate. Technology, in many ways, was designed to help people in various fields of work. However, it has also achieved the reciprocal. Where does music lie? Has technology hurt or helped the field of music, specifically hip-hop? What do these advancements mean for the genre?
Music and the relationships of music have changed drastically in our society. The course of studies and the evaluations of the applications of the technology of music, the making and the listening of music have changed in the way we listen to music, the styles of music in our society and in the media. The importance of the technology in music today, has, over the past century been charted through the study of musical examples and through viewing how human values are reflected in this century's timely music. There are very many different types of music that are listened to. There are readings, writings, lectures and discussions on all the different types of music.
In the world today there are many ways to record and make music. It didn’t always use to be this way. People for the longest time did not have means of recording. With the invention of electricity recording became more readily available. With the invention of the tape player, MIDI, auto tune and MP3’s the music industry would not be in the place it is now without these things.
In today’s modern world the DJ has become a musician; the turntable, his instrument. It took fifteen years for this amazing resolution. DJ's have actually been around for years; mixing and scratching however, it did not come along until the late 70's or early 80's (“Disc Jockey 1”). A lot of people were doing this. But the main front line man was and still is Granmasterflash. Granmasterflash, one of hip-hop's founding fathers and the creator of the Quick Mix. He was the first person to change the arrangements of songs by using duplicate copies of records and manually editing/repeating the climatic part by rubbing the record back and forth (“Grandmaster Flash”). But now the DJ has changed. The kinds of DJ’s are different, the equipment is different, and the scratching is different.
Both music and mathematics have concepts, and special symbols. What is a musical key? What is a number? The meanings of things in both regimens are somewhat vague, unless you understand what they are. You cannot define a number, but you know what they are much of the time and you can use them. It is no different with a musical notion like a major key. Once you know what it means you can tell if you have found one, though you cannot figure out the definition of it still. There are many things in music that are obviously math-related, and many musical notions can be explained in numbers. But it is important to know that numbers do not simply specify music; instead, music is a way to listen to numbers, to bring them into the real world of our senses.
... of apps and opportunities to create them. These applications provide another way to customize the look and feel of your interface. This eliminates the need to purchase physical copies of software and manually install them because you just download the software after purchase from the online store and install it.
