This is Friar Lawrence’s final warning to Romeo and Juliet before he married them. He cautioned them not to rush into their marriage as they had just met a few days prior. Their love for each other was fleeting and immoderate, and while their decision to get married felt like a good idea at the time, they would regret it later. Immoderation or anything that grants instant gratification will destroy us. Fast food and junk food are convenient and taste good, but they are unhealthy and if eaten in excess will destroy your body. Watching another YouTube video might sound like a good idea at 11 p.m., but you will regret it at 5:30 when you wake up. Drugs and alcohol might sound fun, but lethal amounts will kill people.
