John Stuart Mill, a British philosopher stated in ‘Ultarianism’ “no intelligent human being would consent to be a fool, no instructor person would be ignoramus, no person of feeling and conscience would be selfish and base, even though they should be persuaded that the fool, the dunce, or the rascal is better satisfied with his lot than they are with theirs”. Mill states that someone who is educated would not even think about following someone foolish. They are not ignorant, and those who are conscience of the consequences of their actions would neither be selfish or mean. However, those who are considered educated and aware also understand that those who are considered the fools (the selfish, gullible, and ignorant ones) are happier in their way of life than they are. …show more content…

Children are innocent and therefore ignorant about current events, gullible, and believe that the world is filled with rainbows and that everyone on this earth will always carry good intentions. In comparison, adults are fully aware of the veil we use to cover our children’s eyes in order to let them enjoy their childhood. We are fully aware that the world is not always a good place and that there are people with good intentions, bad intentions, and cynically evil intentions. Childhood for the most part is considered the best year’s of everyone’s lives since children are able to live in a ignorant bubble and not be aware of the world’s evils. On the other hand, we are unaware by what Mill classified as educated. I believe he may have meant being informed with current events and continuing to want to educate themselves. Therefore, if Mill were to consider those who are informed are educated, then it is very evident as to why people who are informed lives a lower quality of life than those who are
