In 2004 they came out with a movie entitled “IRobot” starring will smith the movie was about a robot invasion. In this movie Robots became a part of everyday life, caring for the elderly and working a long side of humans. The plan was for the robots to keep humans safe but the robots turned and where going to enslave the humans. Some people are still afraid that might happen but In the story “The robot Invasion” by Charlie Gillis it talks about robots and how they are working towards building robots to do the work that people don’t want to do and how much it would cost for them to build the robots and the glimpse of the future robotics. But they’re not big robots like everyone expected they are small but complex and they are set to revolutionize manufacturing and labor. Charlie Gillis feels like the Robot invasion will happen but will happen and a good way and we will benefit from it. Gillis tries to use different words to make it sound better and more appealing such as “hoovering” (paragraph 4). He also uses the word friendly several times in paragraph 14, he goes as far as saying the robots would be friendly like c-3po who was a friendly robot in the movie star wars (paragraph 14). The main reason why Charlie Gillis write this is to inform people about the invasion of robots and how friendly and how good it will be for the world. He talks about how the robots will be small and complex to make it sound better for the reader so they won’t think the robot will be big or life size and be scary.
