Road trips are known to be fun adventures. When someone says they are going on a road trip people expect them to go and see amazing places and then come back. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck and On the Road by Jack Kerouac are about road trips but these trips are not about the adventure. Duke from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Sal from On the Road and Steinbeck from Travels with Charley all go on road trips because of the American drive. I am also on the road and even thought it is not road trips I am moving around and it is because of the American drive. The American drive is the need to go and to be on the move and it started because people were not happy about their current lives and they wanted to do more. They went on the journey to find happiness and success.

Located on the lower east coast of Florida the city of Miami is bordered by the Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Going east from the city the islands of Key Biscayne and Miami Beach help shelter the bay from the Atlantic Ocean, giving Miami a naturally protected harbor. The elevation of the city never rises above 40 feet and within most neighborhoods the elevation stays under 10 feet. The highest undulations are the Miami rock ridge which is found along the coast. A majority of the city lies on the shores of Biscayne Bay which contains hundreds of natural and artificially created islands, the largest being Miami Beach and South Beach.

I remember traveling to Miami in the summer of 2017. We visited many areas near and in the city, such as a large garden, the Perez art museum, Key West, the waterfront, and much more. Millions of people every year visit big cities like Miami. Many of these cities share common characteristics which make them popular destinations to visit. All great cities to visit should have certain characteristics in order to be popular destinations to visit, such as size, beauty, and age.
The family would be passing through New Mexico and Arizona to get to California. Baby Trinity started to get cranky. Something was bothering her but no one could figure out what it was. Trinity was crying so loud she woke up the roosters. Joey tried, unsuccessfully to calm her down. He was making funny and goofy faces and to no prevail, Trinity would not stop. Mr. Parks stopped at the nearest gas station to calm Trinity down. It was so hot and humid that the family did not want to get out of the car. They felt like butter melting in the sun as soon as they stepped out of the car. As soon as they entered the diner, that was part of the gas station, it felt like they were in an ice cooler. Anything was better than being outside in the smoldering weather. The
