I remember traveling to Miami in the summer of 2017. We visited many areas near and in the city, such as a large garden, the Perez art museum, Key West, the waterfront, and much more. Millions of people every year visit big cities like Miami. Many of these cities share common characteristics which make them popular destinations to visit. All great cities to visit should have certain characteristics in order to be popular destinations to visit, such as size, beauty, and age.

Many popular destinations to visit are rich in history. Take Rome, for instance. The city is a popular tourist destination and was founded more than 2 millennia ago. The city has a rich history, ranging from the establishment of the Roman Republic to the fall of the empire, to the renaissance, and more. This makes the city a great place to visit because people will want to be able to see the history of the site. Paris is also an example of this. Florence is one example of this. It is one of the nicest cities in Europe. It has a lot of old architecture and collections of famous art. People would be fascinated by the view and artwork, which would make many travel to a city like Florence, since they would not be able to see these at many other places. Another example of this would be San Francisco. The city has a wide open view of the San Francisco bay, and landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presido, Twin peaks, and Union Square. There are also smaller things, like the streetcars. Many live in small communities with less architecture and may not have good views, so they would visit. A final example of this is Amsterdam. The city has rows upon rows of colorful houses, a nice, clear, waterfront, and a beautiful harbor. Those who want to get a nice waterfront view can visit Amsterdam and see it.
