“You should do pharmacy, you will have no future in business!” my mom said bluntly. Hearing those words felt disheartening, but something I have prove to my parents. Like many Asian parents, they want their child to pursue a career that will make their child financially stable, leading many to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, or any appreciated career from their Asian parents. Although, business may not earn as much money as the top professions, I have been interested in business, since it involves real-world concepts that can be practical for everyday life and the wide array of fields within the business world. Pursuing a career in business is something I aspire to achieve and want to prove my parents that I am capable of having a future
One course I gained from my overall time as an undergrad is public speaking. Like many of us, we dread speaking in front of an audience. The first day in Public Speaking, Professor Donaldson’s said, “People feared public speaking more than death.” With each speech I have given, I began to overcome public speaking. The feedback from professors after each class presentation has helped me sharpen and refine my speaking abilities. Thus, the last presentation I gave, I realized how much of an improvement from the first speech I had ever given to the last. Another course that I can take with me is from Organizational Assessment. Not only did I realize how businesses are the culprits to causing massive amounts of pollutants in the air, causing global warming, they are also the solution to becoming energy efficient industries in sustainability. The engaging discussions from the courses made me realize how few companies have done little to foster green technology. A goal I hope to achieve in the workforce is to encourage renewable energy technology, which can maximize industry profits while reducing carbon footprint. Completing each course, I have gained substantial knowledge that has become immensely valuable for my future
Marketing Program, I look forward to be enriched with the knowledge the professors provide, such as, Professor Kumar who teaches the course in Consumer Behavior in learning how to enhance the value of the company, or Professor Biswas who teaches Brand Management on brand awareness. Both of the professors have an extensive background in their field and reputable credibility, ranging from academic sources to media outlets. The opportunity to work with professors, who know the principles of marketing and making informed marketing decisions, will help me grasp the key aspects I need in the completive business

I was raised in an encouraging household where both of my parents greatly valued education. Although they were high school graduates, neither could afford to attend college; a combination of family and financial woes ultimately halted their path. As a result, my parents frequently reminded me that getting a good education meant better opportunities for my future. To my parents, that seemed to be the overarching goal: a better life for me than the one they had. My parents wanted me to excel and supported me financially and emotionally of which the former was something their parents were not able to provide. Their desire to facilitate a change in my destiny is one of many essential events that contributed to my world view.

The entirety of my middle and high school years revolved around the idea that I would help people in a health profession, but I was never sure what that meant; so I always aimed high. I finally realized I wanted to be a pharmacist in my second year of college. I knew what pharmacists could do since I watched my dad while he worked in a small pharmacy in Queens all my life. As a teenager, my dad would bring me to work with him and I would help and shadow the pharmacist. I never thought much of the profession then, however, Mr. Masub explained to me that pharmacists didn’t just count pills. Pharmacy was a broad field filled with untapped potential, from clinical to ambulatory care. Most of all, he saw potential in me to make a real difference
The objective of this paper is to disclose how my career aspirations will align with the Adult Education program. The Adult Education program is important, because it provides a source for me to exercise my professional purpose. “Helping adult learners become successful one student at a time” is my professional purpose. I strive to make a difference in other lives, which drives me to contribute more than I have personally. Helping others motivate me to reach beyond my immediate means to other resources that can help adult learners to become successful.

Marketing is very important to the success of a business. Before people can buy a product or service they have to know about it. However, marketing entails more than just letting people know what your company has to offer. Throughout this paper, I will define marketing, offering my personal definition as well as more formal definitions from other sources. Furthermore, I will explain to the reader the importance of marketing to organizational success giving real world examples in support of this explanation. The field of marketing can include many things. I believe, however, the most important thing which it should include is communication with customers as to the value and benefits of using that particular company's products and services. It should help to establish the business's niche in the industry and distinguish it from other such businesses.
I like communicating with other people, and much of my life consists of me with my friends. Communicating with people is a good way to become social and comfortable around people. Public speaking is my least favorite part of communicating but I feel if I go into business, it will be one of the most important things to learn. If I have to give a big speech, it could be the first time several upper management bosses really hear what I have to say, and if I give a poor speech and look frightened, it could make them think I am incompetent and cannot communicate.

My main goal is to use my career in pharmacy to serve the public in the best manner I can. I would not hesitate to challenge the status quo to ensure that I have done all I can. I believe that public service, even in the smallest way, can lead to great benefits. I have taken four semesters of Spanish because in Astoria, where I work, there is a large Spanish demographic. My ability to understand Spanish, even if it is elementary, will help me help more patients. In addition, I am majoring in Economics and I believe this will help me interpret the demand of my patients so that I can cater to their needs. Managing a successful pharmacy takes a certain type of business savvy that would require one to balance patient satisfaction and economic growth. I am passionate about a prospective career in pharmacy and becoming a pharmacist is not only my ultimate goal, but is a field that I have already shown promise
Before starting the module; Marketing Theory and Practice, I had a perception that it would be a bulky module and challenging to cover in a short time span. However, my thinking totally changed after starting the module as I found Marketing flexible, understandable and highly relevant to the business world. My expectation in marketing was to learn fundamental marketing theories and techniques that would help me build a sustainable business that would extend across the borders of my home country. This essay is going to cover weeks 20, 21 and 22 that is International Marketing, Marketing ethics and CSR, Managing Marketing Implementation
Often times, I can’t help but wonder what my life would be like if I haven’t been exposed to the world of business; a wonderful career that changed my life completely. I have taken interest in business career because I love calculating numbers and interacting with people; But most importantly, my fascination in business came from my grandfather. He taught me many valuable tips on how to be a successful person, and most certainly how to run a business. He was not only a successful businessman, but also a respected individual. One of the businesses that he owned was a company called “Wu Long Tea Factory”. The main thing that they produce is tea of course, but they also have products such as cakes, candies, and all kinds of stuff. By being the production manager’s assistant of this company, I was able to experience everything that was going on in the factory. Even though that was the background I grew up in, my biggest fascination wasn’t in being a manager in a factory; it was the finance part that got me all excited. Often times I can even see myself sitting in my office and work on clients’ financial profiles and statements. I also took extra math classes and participated in many of the competitions in order to prepare myself to succeed in this particular field. Other things that I also did to get me well prepared are joining school activities, applying internships, and having jobs. I believe that all my hard work will pay off, when I see myself as a successful businessman.
In public speaking I learned many types of concepts, theories and terms of communication. In concepts of publicly speaking there’s, relaxation, practice, credibility, attention getters, attire, organization, volume, emotion, audience relation, and movement. In my first speech, “The any old bag speech” I quickly learned the do’s, don’ts and concepts of my speech performance.
According to the study of this course, I have learned many useful management skills and I feel like these skills will be applied to my future career development. When working on the self- assessment tests, I found myself fall into the category of the ISTJ personality types, which as illustrated by Myers Briggs, is the type of personality that is conscientious, considerate, and helpful. Personality traits such as honest, dutiful, practical and responsible are my strengths; personality traits such as stubborn, insensitive and poor communication skill are my weaknesses. Related to the knowledge I have learned in the course I believe both strengths and weakness will have influence to my future career development. In this reflection paper, I will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses that may place the most influence on my way of success.
