The purposes of different types of business organization.
Business organization: A group of people organized for making profit in a collective way is known as business organization. For instance, Unilever Ltd and Lindum Group.
The purposes: Most of the business organizations are operated to make profit by proving commodities or services. It is the basic purpose of a business organization. But according to types of organizations, purposes may slightly defer. Here, I have considered three main types of business organizations and their purposes.
The public sector organizations: These types of business organizations are run and operated by the government (Tutor2u.net, 2013). Different types of taxes collected from the people are the main sources of finance of public organizations. These organizations are not profit oriented. The basic purposes are:
To provide essential public services like school, hospitals etc.
To ensure mass welfare.
To protect the country from enemies.
To increase the industrial development.
To ensure smooth supply of necessary product.
The private sector organization: A business organization owned and conducted by private individual is called a private sector organization (Daft and Kendrick et al., 2010). This sector includes sole proprietorship, partnership, franchises, private limited companies, public limited companies etc. In this section, I have selected two organizations and presented their purposes.

Nonprofit and voluntary type organizations play a major and integral role in American society. Each group exists today because they were established with the desire to help those in need by providing products, good and services. In the article “Toward Nonprofit Reform in Voluntary Spirit: Lessons From the Internet”, the authors stated the that nonprofit and the voluntary sector can include professional, the paid nonprofit, and grassroots organizations (Brainard & Siplon, 2004, p. 435). Even though these organizations may have the same or similar structures, I will compare and contrast the economic and political difference and similarity between the two.
Nonprofit Organizations The purpose of this research is to define nonprofit organizations, describe opportunities that are present in nonprofits, outline advantages and disadvantages of working in the nonprofit sector, and explain how you can determine if this is an area for you to consider as a career. WHAT IS THE NONPROFIT SECTOR? "Nonprofit" is a term that the I.R.S. uses to define tax-exempt organizations whose money or "profit" must be used solely to further their charitable or educational mission, rather than distribute profits to owners or shareholders as in the for-profit sector. The term is also used to describe organizations which are not a branch of -- are independent of -- the government and the corporate sector. This term refers to one of the most important uniqueness of a nonprofit organization: it is independent of both the public or government sector and the private or corporate sector.
Most non-profit organizations’ purpose is to improve the local community and society. The purpose of a small business is to make a profit by providing a service or selling a product. This purpose is what drives the employees/volunteers and usually there is a difference in how we work when we are just earning a paycheck as compared to when we work toward a cause we believe in.
The organizations that dominate our society are known as formal organizations. Businesses, schools (colleges and universities, corporations, governments, churches and other religious institutions all fall under the category of a formal organization. Basically any institution you come into contact with on a daily basis. The harsh reality is that every person in this world, your friends, family, professors, bosses, especially you are a member of an organization; possibly several. And each of us contributes to the organization in our own way whether we want to or don’t.
Exploring the Types of Business Organisations There are two Business Sectors: Public Sector These are businesses owned and run by the government. Some examples of Services provided in the public sector are the postal service, schools, colleges, housing environment, some bus and train services, fire, police, ambulance and local justice and social services. Their method of raising capital is different as Private Sector businesses have to raise their own capital e.g. their own money, a bank loan etc. The Public Sector business can get the money required from the Treasury or from local rates.
All businesses regardless of the size require some sort of organizational structure function properly. Efficiency may be jeopardized if businesses do not create some form of organizational structure. This applies to any company manufacturing or selling a product implementing company policies and key basic operational functions. If I were to start a business, I would include these key components and department in hopes that my business would be successful.
Organizations can be configured in many different ways. Their overall classifications can be summarized by characteristics of complexity within the system, the level of formalization, and the centralization of decision-making power. The structure of each organization is influenced by many factors. Such factors include; the goods and services provided, the overall individuality of the staff providing the service and producing the products. The overall beliefs and values of the individuals performing the services that are being delivered, the technology that is utilized to help deliver the services and aid in product production, as well as the needs, desires, and generalized characteristics of the consumer population that requires or demand the product or service. (Yoder-Wise, 2007, p. 145) The organization will have different operating priorities based on its ownership. The main goal behind most business is to make money. The private owned institution strives to make its shareholders money, while a non-profit institution reinvests all of its revenue back into the orga...
For a company to be successful it is important that it has very good organization. Organization can be defined in many different ways. Bateman and Snell define organizing as assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational,
... Public sector... being engaged in the providing sevices (and in some cases goods) whose scope and variety are determined not by the direct wishes of the consumers, but by the the decisions of government bodies.
1a) The purpose of any organization is best described from a customer’s point of view. Without a satisfied customer base a company will not survive. The purpose of company is to provide a product or service, this product or service provides a direct benefit or capability to the customer in which you are interacting with. The purpose explains why the company is in existence, it also should explain what business or sector the company is servicing and what business or sector that the company is not involved in. For example, Apple provides products and services in the technology sector. They manufacture products and have various services within their brand that they market. By having a direct purpose a customer should be able to verify that Apple
Non-profit organizations can be divided into two types. Public non-profit organizations obtain most or all of their financial support through donations they receive from the general public. Some of these organizations, such as those that provide services or goods to the needy, may procure funding by fundraising in which they collect small donations from individuals who appreciate the organization’s goal. Other public non-profits, such as museums, may raise money by offering certain benefits in exchange for paid memberships.
Organizations are defined as a group of people which are structured and managed to accomplish things and reach collective goals. Regardless of the size of an organization, they have several common characteristics. These characteristics are a coordination of effort, a common objective or purpose, a division of labor, and a formal organizational structure. (Cassidy & Krietner, 2010)
Organization is formed by a group of people who work together. No matter the organization is a profit making ones or non-profit making ones, its formations are to achieve a common purpose or variety of goals, which are the desired future outcomes. The outcomes might be producing a series of product or serving a group of target customers or satisfying others¡¦ needs.
The following are six forms of business organizations. Each form includes a description of the form and its key characteristics, advantages and disadvantages with respect to the following categories: Liability, Income taxes, Longevity, Control, Profit retention, Location (Expansion) and Convenience.
Our government seems to enjoy these phrases quite a bit. In our government, they have many divisions called government organizations. Tell me if I’m wrong but I believe the government is an organization itself. How can they call them government organizations if the government IS an organization? That’s like saying organization organization.
