Pharmacists are people who specialize in medicines (Pharmacists). They specialize in medicine to help treat patients with different illnesses and problems (Pharmacists). They help patients better understand the use of their medication (Pharmacists). They understand the composition, properties, and uses of medicines to determine which medication is needed for each patient’s problem or illness (Pharmacists).
According to the website Pharmacy Career Options, “pharmacists are also people who are professionally qualified to prepare and dispense medicinal drugs.” Only the pharmacist may dispense the medication (Pharmacy Career Options). To prepare and dispense, the pharmacists must count and pour accurately (Pharmacy Career Options). Special instructions for this process include special storage, packaging, accurate labeling, and counting (Pharmacy Career Options).
Pharmacists deal with multiple insurance companies daily (Pharmacists Career, Jobs, and Training). Some pharmacists have to turn in multiple insurance claims daily (Pharmacists Career, Jobs, and Training). Also, they have to verify payment and billing (Pharmacists Career, Jobs, and Training).
They search for coverage and make sure the patient will get his or her medication needed (Pharmacists Career, Jobs, and Training).
