The Pros And Cons Of Lucid Dreaming

Imagine being able to control your dreams and take dreaming to a whole new level. There are various types of dreams, however I would like to inform you about an interesting type called lucid dreaming. It is can be a fascinating and overwhelming experience at the same time. Many benefits can come from lucid dreaming, and like anything else, there must be disadvantages. However, lucid dreaming has been traced back many centuries ago which have shown that it is very beneficial.
Lucid dreaming can help people to face their fears. Dreaming about spiders, for example, can help you get rid of your fears of spiders. You experience something frightening but in a safe environment. Nothing can hurt you. If spiders were all over you in your dream, you will see that they cannot hurt you, so your subconscious changes its reaction to spiders. Spiders become less frightful then they were before.
A dreamer is able to see things in his dream that he could not think of while he was awake. For example, a painter can have a lucid dream in which he is in an art gallery. He will see all the creative paintings in his dream and have an idea about what to paint when he wakes up. Also musicians, for example Mozart, got inspired mostly by dreams. Mozart had lucid dreams about music; he listened to music in his dream, and he repeated it when he woke up.
Lucid dreaming can boost you confidence. For example, if you’re tense and anxious about giving speeches, you can rehearse in your dream and then feel much better about it when you wake up. As I said, your subconscious changes its reaction about what you think about the subject of your dream. It makes you feel comfortable about it.
Another benefit is practicing new skills. A surgeon named Stephen Laberge stated...

...p what you want to dream and that you want to remember your dream. You have to say it several times. “Am I dreaming?” asking yourself this question during the day is the third tip. If you do that then you will eventually start asking yourself that question in your dream out of habit. You will be able to differentiate the answer. The fourth tip is you have to keep a book in which you write down what you recall from your dreams. The last tip is to try to wake up during your sleep so that you interrupt your dream. You are expected to have memory of what you were dreaming.
In conclusion, this phenomena is incredible to experience. It has been shown that there are far more advantages than disadvantages. Having the opportunity to leave reality for an hour a night sounds fantastic. I hope that one day I would experience it and tell my fellow classmates about it.
Thank you.
