Deviance is any behavior that violates social norms, which is disapproved from the majority of society. The social norms about gun ownership violence and control really depend on personal opinion although the social standards are constantly being debated. Gun ownership, violence and control in the U.S and elsewhere are constantly dealing with controversies for some of which to seems redundant and an ongoing issue.
It seems to be gun control debates have been politically presence since the formation of the National Rifle Association the argument of those supporting gun control and gun rights has been describes as a stagnant stalemate when there is about equal debate from both sides. Reform movements are always present for various aspects of ownership, possession, caring and much more. The main debate for gun rights is the fact that they are violating their Second Amendments rights; although as the crime rates increase the restrictions on guns seem to rise as well. Unacceptable

behavior with a gun, obviously the first norm that comes to mind is safety although some make relate guns to crimes although as for many others and myself relating guns to hunting and shooting for a sport, involving no criminal activity.
Gun violence is committed with the use of a gun which may or nay not be considered criminal, for example homicide, assault with deadly weapon, suicide and attempted suicide to name a few. The extension of background checks for purchases of guns, have been huge political issues as well as for the reasons that some Americans who own a gun have changed for an increase purchase for personal protection. The U.S has the highest homicide by firearm rate among the worlds most developed nations. Canada breaks its restrictions into three classes of weapons and regulations include minimum age of 18, and to obtain a license that includes a background check and a public safety course.
Australia has the National Agreement on Firearms effective in declining gun death rates and no moss killings since 1996 Port Arthur; the U.S could take a lesson from them. Israel has a unique gun culture where it’s a norm for almost everyone to own a gun and multiple at that with no big flags raised. Japan has the firearm and sword law; just to mention a few other countries everyone has different deviances and norms. Overall, the main controversy between gun control, violence and ownership relates to the process of owning a gun and the violation of ones Second Amendment and if the availability of firearms may or may not affect the actual crime rates in the United States. Possibly we can look at some other countries and take away some successes and try to find a common ground. Although I don’t think this issue will be resolved any time soon the controversy will stand as long at there are crime and most crimes involve guns.

Homicide is one of the worst crimes a person can commit. If you are found guilty by the court of law you can be sentenced to 10 years in prison, proving that it is an unjustifiable crime (justice.gc.ca). Homicide by definition is the killing of one human by another even without intent (dictionary.reference) and can be punishable as murder or manslaughter (World Book H 304). Personal firearms, mostly handguns, make the process of homicide easier and less scarring because instead of a gruesome stabbing; it is just a pull of a trigger. If Canadian citizens were allowed the easy access to personal firearms like US citizens, homicide rates would be much higher than what is it today. The United States of America in 2011 had an annual homicide total of 15,953. 75% of these homicides were done by a personal firearm. These numbers compared to Canada’s annual homicide total of 529, which only 173 involved personal firearms (32%) (gun policy)...

Should gun ownership be banned or should guns be controlled? Does gun ownership create a violent society? The answer is not measurable, however, from the firearm situation between America and Canada, the answer is more obvious.

In The United States of America there are lots of problems that are plaguing our nation. Gun Control is a problem that there is lots of controversy over. This is a problem that had a fire reignited under it when on December 14, 2012 a school in Connecticut was attacked. Many legislative bills have been introduced since then. (Focus of U.S Gun Control Shifts to States Year after Newtown Shooting) There are lots of issues that we have in our community with Gun Control that we have controversy over: background checks, age, classes, military guns, pistols, shotguns, and rifles. All of these things are apart of the plague in our Nation.
In America guns have been a part of the country’s society since it’s birth. Throughout history the citizens of the US have used firearms to protect the nation, protect their families, hunt for food and engage in sporting activities. The issue of Guns and gun control is complex. Weighing the rights and liberties of the individual against the welfare and safety of the public has always been a precarious balancing act. In the United States, gun control is one of these tumultuous issues that has both sides firmly entrenched in their positions. Those parties in favor of gun ownership and the freedom to use and keep arms, rely on the fact that the provision for such rights is enshrined in their constitution. In this climate of growing violence, rife with turmoil and crime, gun advocates feel more than ever that their position is justified. As citizens of the “Land of the Free” possessing a gun is a fundamental right, and may even be a necessity... Anti- gun lobbyists point to the same growing violence and gun related crimes in an effort to call on the government to take action. By enacting more laws and stricter control, these people not in favor of guns feel society would be better safer.
Due to recent shootings in four cities gun control legislation has become a big issue throughout the United States. Government officials have presented legislation for gun control to help reduce mass shootings; however, even with these suggestions for strict gun control twelve states have already passed laws that offer fewer limitations for gun possession. After the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, Connecticut passed a law to ban gun sales that hold large amounts of ammunition. According to McLeod “in Newtown, Connecticut, the families of ten out of twenty children killed in a December 2012 massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School have sued a North Carolina-based gun manufacturer, alleging Remington Outdoor Co.’s Bushmaster
The development of arguments surrounding gun control corresponds to the increased violence and problems related to weapons and firearms use. This then prompted the expansion of gun control initiatives and has shapes public opinion particularly in the promotion of increased regulation to banning. Due to this, it became controversial as it split the opinions of the citizenry particularly in their stance to advance different objectives. Arguably, the process of developing gun control remains to be detrimental due to its capacity to challenge individual rights and liberty, undermine the value of guns and firearms in the promotion of deterrence and self-defense and inability to recognize the commitment of existing reasonable gun management and control initiatives already in place.
So why is gun control such a hot debate? Perhaps to answer this question it would be important to look at some key statistics concerning handguns in our society. In this nation, where nearly half of all US households own at least one gun, nearly 30,000 people die from a gunshot each year (Dahl). From this alone it is no wonder gun control is such an important issue, however as bad as this may seem, the number of firearm related incidents have decreased over the years. In the early 1990’s the number of people killed or wounded by firearms soared. Since 1993 however the US has seen a steady drop in deaths due to firearm (The Lancet). Fatal firearms accidents have declined as well, nearly 40 percent in the last decade, and are now at the lowest levels ever recorded (Poe). So why the sudden drop? Antigun advocates would like to attribute this to an increase in gun control laws while pro gun advocates point to a decrease in unemployment rates along with other social factors.
The debate over gun control in America has constantly been brought up over the years due to gunmen killing large amounts of people in shootings. From Columbine to Sandy Hook, or the shootings of the two reporters in West Virginia, these public shootings are occurring everywhere. Lawmakers and civilians alike are pushing for increased gun control in hopes of preventing the same tragedies. Anyone that has been affected by the shootings has been pushing Congress and state governments to force new sanctions on the government. Over the past three years, Congress has shot down all the laws despite the large amounts of public support.
What is deviance? What does it mean? What determines a behavior as deviant? Deviance is anything that violates a social norm. For example, when a child burps at the supper table but doesn’t excuse himself. Who we socialize and spend time with will determine what we deem as deviant behavior. There are many types of deviant behaviors, some of these behaviors may not be considered deviant to one culture but to another they are.
When the 17 unfortunate students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School walked into class on February 14th, they expected the day to be a regular and happy day. Little did they know that it would not be joyful at all, but that it would become their last. On that very day Nikolas Cruz, a 19 year old barged into school with an AR-15 rifle and shot and killed 17 innocent students. This was not the first time a shooting this gruesome had occurred. Over the last decade shootings like the Parkland Shooting have become as common as small thefts. This has caused uproars among the student bodies. Gun owners say that banning guns would be a violation of the second amendment and that guns are a way of self-defense. I argue against them with the claim
My project is about gun control laws to stop people who have bad background information about how they use the guns and in what way. I’m going to talk about the laws that could be used to stop the purchases that could end with a shooting and the killing of the innocent people. I’m also going to talk about the pro’s and con’s with gun control laws. If there was a side that I will pick I would chose it will be. No, because guns don’t kill people, people kill people. It’s not like a gun is just going to go off randomly, the trigger has to be pulled because guns don’t have a mind of there own.
Guns are NOT as dangerous as they seem. Yes, they do kill but only when they are in the hands of a person that is willing to kill. The United States are just too strict when it comes to the use of guns. There shouldn’t even be a gun control law. I believe that guns are just another form of defense.
Carrying firearms can have both negative and positive effect. Whenever I have ask, is it good carry to gun? Is it necessary to gun? Is it really saving lives? Should we allow everyone to have gun? I get confuse, answering these questions because I have both pros and cons about guns. I believe carrying firearms should not be allow. Especially to those who don’t have good background history. If guns only carries by police I think we would have less crime. Second Amendment explains right to have firearms. It is for saving lives, but now days we are more losing our love ones lives. Mass shooting and target killing is increasing in world wide. Why? Because getting firearms is a lot easier. In addition, we heard in news that person was mental ill
