Terrorism is a force of unlawful intimidation imposed on a country through an act of violence and is being faced by countries all over the world. America has been fighting against terrorism but one main controversy debated between people whether or not America is being restricted by the laws written under the Constitution and international agreements. The Constitution and international agreements hinder the ability to fight terrorists by establishing the extent of the actions taken by the United States based on legality issues, humanitarian concerns, and national reputation. Legality is a major issues because many people think that the Constitution has too many rules which restrains America from fighting terrorists effectively. One concern the people have is why America is one of the only countries using drone strikes because many believe that they are not necessary since so many countries can win wars without drone strikes. Drone strikes do not defy the laws of the Constitution, however they challenge the morals made by the nation, and the government tries to resolve this by saying, “taking strikes only when we face a continuing, imminent threat, and only where there is … near certainty of no civilian casualties” (Is Obama’s Drone War Moral?). If using drone strikes is the most efficient way of eliminating terrorists, then making it a last resort only if there is a “continuing, imminent threat” is not necessary because the main goal is to eliminate terrorists as fast as possible with minimal amount of collateral
