Most of us use ATV,also known as all-terrain-vehicle, at least once in are lifes times. They have been here for a while now Even though we use them a lot most of us don't know how they have changed from the past like their wheels tires engines and so on. You might not know it but they have increased in recreational uses over the year. ATVs have been here since about the 1961 but they got the idea of ATVs during the gas shortage in World War II. “During that time Soichiro Honda was unable to use his car and had a novel idea of attaching the small engine to his bicycle” (Brent). Because of that soichiro Became the founder of Honda. Without soichiro honda trying to put an engine on his bike, ATV would of took longer to get here but there's also a chance they still might not …show more content…
Before atv were out When farming they would only be able to use tractors which were very bad at saving gas causing farmers to pay more then they should but with the atvs`, they could almost do anything a tractor can do and they only guzzled about 8 percent of that fuel needed to feed a tractor. That alowed to them save a ton of money which is awesome for the farmer but that is also good for us because the farmer pays less to make his food, he is able to sell it for cheaper making it easier for us to buy it. Because of more people buying the farmer's product it gives him more money. Another things ATV have done is helping finding people. Back before atv helped, when they had searching crews they had people walk and some other rode a horse but now they can also use four wheelers which gives them a bigger chance of finding the person they're looking for. Atv also help explore new places, unlike horses or walking, four wheelers can go faster than both allowing you to discover more a lot faster. Because of all these recreational uses in 1980 ATV demands was at an all-time high because of it serving both recreational and utility
Should ATVs be allowed on public roads therefore creating a more convenient environment Theses: ATVs should be allowed on public roads for a more convenient environment ATVs are not allowed on public roads in Iowa for just the ordinary person we have made a small exception for farmers but should ATV be allowed on roads for everyone? Currently farmers are allowed on public roads for farm related work as in field to field transportation (Iowa house) currently we are allowing farmers on roads for more conveniences to their jobs. so why not allow anyone willing to take the steps to properly equip their ATV with blinkers, brake lights and headlights. Farmers are not required to have this equipment for the use of their ATVs on public roads yet it is still allowed. ATVs should be allowed on public roads is the driver is trained to operate the machine at high and low speeds.
The automobile was only used by less than ten million Americans and by the end of this post-war decade that number had climbed to over thirty million. Many new inventions were coming through, making life for Americans much more comfortable. Radios, vacuum cleaners, irons, washing machines, and refrigerators were among the new necessities Americans just had to have. Refrigerators allow for better production and transportation of food products. This allowed for the ability to keep food cold and fresh, thus making exporting of food a valuable agricultural economy.
The impact of the automobile between 1900 through 1945 was immense. It paved the way for a future dependency on the automobile. To paint a better picture, imagine life without an automobile. Everyday life would be dull, cumbersome, and tedious. An individual's mobility would be very limited. Basically, the life without an automobile could not be fathomed. The importance of the automobile is often taken for granite. Society may not know what appreciate the impact of the automobile and effects it has created. The impact of the automobile had both positive and negative effects on America between 1900 through 1945. Automobile provided an outlet for individuals and spread the freedom of travel among all classes of people. It also helped to introduce rural dwellers to the aspects of urban life and vice versa. One of the negative effects was that automobiles helped to put of big decline in the use of railroads. Over the course of the paper, I will try to expose the huge impact of the automobile an early twentieth century life.
In the twentieth century, the introduction of the motor vehicle in the United States became not only noteworthy, but also vital in the development of modern American civilization. This technologically complex machine led citizens to vast future dependency on the invention. While mobility was suddenly not limited to alternative, more convoluted options such as railroad stations or bicycles, yet copiously amplified to aid convenience and expanded leisure opportunities. From auto-racing to redesigning infrastructure, motor vehicles allowed progression, digression, and essentially uttermost change to lifestyles of the American people.
One of the main reasons that the automobile has changed America for the better is because of its effect it has had on transportation. For example, with the invention of the automobile came a need for highways this allowed easy travel for people to get to work or to go on vacations. It also had a huge effect one the war. The automobile allowed soldiers to haul weapons food and other supplies. The automobile also allowed soldiers to get from battlefield to battlefield quick and easily. with the invention of the automobile gave a whole new mea...

Having the advantage of the gold rush, it was possible to get rich quick with the gold. With new inventions of tools that helped miners or helped farmers in their lives, life has become a bit easier. The population doubled, which in turn helped America economically. Doc. of the. 2, 5)
Did you know that in a study of ATV accidents in 2011, eighty percent of the people that got injured hurt their torso area and above. That is estimated to be 85,000 people and almost thirty percent of those involved kids under the age of 16(CPSC Blogger). People who ride an All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) could avoid accidents leading to injury and even death by wearing helmets, taking a safety course and practicing safe riding habits.
In this year Henry Ford created the first affordable, combustion engine car called the Model-T. The creation of the Model-T changed the lives of every American. Vehicles were looked at as a way of freedom and excitement. Soon after, every household in America had a car. The demand for vehicles sparked a whole new industry, creating jobs, more revenues and improving the American economy in every way. With so many vehicles on the roads, roads needed to become bigger and better which spawned a nation wide road construction. This also created more jobs and strengthened the economy even further. (Inventions: Car)
Many Americans were glad to have purchased their own source of transportation because they loved not having to wait in the rain for the bus or also not having to walk five miles to church. This invention has made an enormous impact on the world by allowing people to get to places that once took them 5hrs to get to by walking to riding a car that only takes them about an hour now.
Utility Terrain Vehicles are with 4 or 6 low-pressure tires and provided with a steering wheel. Whereas All-Terrain Vehicles are steered with a handlebar. ATV`s are provided with handlebar throttle and footbrake. Whereas in UTV´s accelerator and brake pedals are provided, just like in a normal car. UTV´s are capable of carrying two or more person, whereas ATV´s are restricted to one or two persons. In contrast with the ATV´s straddled seating system, UTV´s are provided with Bucket or Bench seats for at least two occupants and belt guides for passenger’s safety. In addition, UTV´s are developed with Rollover protection system (ROPS) to protect the occupants from the rollover of the vehicle. Rollover protection system, when properly combined with the fastened seat belts can effectively prevent the occupants from serious injuries in vehicle rollovers. All-terrain Vehicles are not supplied with the occupant safety systems and is resulting in major injuries and deaths of the occupants in vehicle
Small engines were not the most popular item on the market until after World War 1 and even than the steam engines were preferred instead of gas engines. One of the first small engines that were used by common people was lawn mowers. The lawn mower was invented by Edwin Budding in 1830 from England. Edwin Budding and John Ferrabee was the first mowing company and was established as a partnership but, they did not let other companies copy there work until 1832. Once that idea was out many different companies have produced different types of mowers (Source A). The next huge impact on lawn mowers was in the 1970’s when Briggs and Stratton used less gas, to make electric motors, and also made them out of 98% recycled aluminum. Than in the 1990’s Briggs and Stratton made a never before seen, Type “P” engine, which powered washing machines, garden tractors, cultivators, and generators. The affordability of this engine made it possible for common people to purch...

329) There was not one specific person who "invented the automobile," but, there were many people who contributed to the invention of the automobile.(Ingrassia, 5) (Boyne, 31) These people include Isaac Newton, who developed a power carriage in the fourteen twenties, and Joseph Cugnot, who built the first steam powered automobile in seventeen sixty nine. The first American to develop an automobile was Nathan Redd.(Brown, 329) The use of the automobile in the United States became common due to the convenience and reliability of a quick, easy to operate source of transportation. The American people began to build their homes further from their jobs, and further from civilization because they could commute back and forth much more quickly.(Simanaitis, 337) The convenience, reliability, and easy commute were only a few positive effects of the development of the automobile in the United States. The invention of the automobile also directly stimulated the economical growth and success of the United States.
'The HEV [Hybrid Electric Vehicle] concept goes back to 1905. On November 23 of that year, American engineer H. Piper filed for a patent on a hybrid vehicle. Piper's design called for an electric motor to augment a gasoline engine'(1, pg 2) and thus, the HEV was born. Hybrid Electric Vehicles, otherwise known as HEVs are vehicles that 'combine the internal combustion engine of a conventional vehicle with the battery and electric motor of an electric vehicle'(2).
