The Process of Training an Upland Bird Dog
There is a process that should be followed when a person is going to pick a puppy that will be trained as an upland bird dog. The first step is to perform some research on picking out the right breed of puppy that will not only fit into the family but also for the fowl that will be hunted. The owner needs to become knowledgeable on the proper care that is needed for the puppy to grow into a healthy dog. There are basic training steps needed for a puppy to become a great bird dog that start when the puppy comes home. To be a responsible owner of a trained and skilled upland bird dog it takes time and patients, but the reward of a well-trained dog and the love of a companion is priceless.
The first step is to perform some research on picking out the right breed of puppy that will not only fit into the family but also for the fowl that will be hunted. Check out different breeders and finding one that fits the needs for the puppy you pick. This will be ideal in the history of the bloodline of the parents to the puppies and the abilities of your puppy and their future training. There are many breed options when it comes to picking the right puppy. To narrow the selection down, think if a retriever or a pointer will fit into your hunting and family needs. When selecting a puppy the families lifestyle needs to fit with the breed, as it can be a ten plus year commitment (Hall, 2013).
Retrievers are eager to please their owner, love the water, and are known as the “flusher” of bird dogs. Retrievers are great family pets and are very faithful to their family as a whole, but the main master or alpha is the hunter that the dogs live to please. Pointers are also eager to please, but they a...

Are these dogs misunderstood? In reality a dog is a reflection of its human, they see you as a pack leader they are who you raise them to be no matter the breed. If you neglect your puppy by chaining them up outside their whole life or keep them in

...and weight of the male Labrador Retrievers range from (40 to 45 kg) female Labrador Retrievers range (36 kg to 40 kg), and a long coat, science helps us to attain this goal by selective breeding program which may include 20 to 25 generations to get these domesticated specific breeds. . Science also helps us to achieve the task by continuously consulting with paleontologists to research the skeletal structure of dogs and compare the existing bone and body structure to previous breeds. In this regard, Associations have established strict rules and regulations for breeding as well as created a way to unify all breeders in a wide-ranging system in order to promote healthfulness and reward breeders who consistently produce specifically heavier, taller and with longer life span puppies for this purpose by adopting crossbred lines and standardized breeding practice
Dogs that are forced to fight and are conditioned to defend themselves or die. When these dogs get loose, everything is a threat to them and they defend themselves in the name of survival. If golden retrievers were bred and raised with the sole purpose of fighting to the death, they would be just as dangerous as pit bulls. On the contrary, if all pit bulls were bred and treated as family dogs, they would have the same reputation as golden retrievers, if not better, as the statistics found in the temperament test above show.
...tion, including their initial evolution, their domestication, and the roles they played in human society throughout the ages. It is a relatively new book being published in 2010. Darcy Morey, the author of this book is a zooarchaeologist and focuses his research on the relationship between dogs and humans throughout time. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. This book is based on the authors own research and also refers to the information gathered by many other scientists, all of which are listed in the reference section of the book. As mentioned this book contains the results of research from many scientists and is beneficial for learning both general and more scientific knowledge on the subject. I would recommend it to anybody who is conduction a research on the topic. This book was found using I-Share using the search term the domestication of dogs.
Thesis Statement: While most owners are aware of the amount of joy and laughter dogs bring to them and their family, they are unaware that their dogs love them unconditionally and can help them have better lives
...t of the family. While the pets have gained better treatment and consumer power, through their owners, this concept has left many animals that are used to make consumer products. These animals are removed from humans so bonds are not formed with them, leaving them open for overuse and exploitation. Ideas like these are spread through the consumer market in places like Petco, where the entire business is reliant on people continuing to feel their animals are part of the family which means the pet needs certain items. If that idea didn't exist I don't think there would be need for a Petco or other big box pet stores, because there wouldn't be the social construct of the pet family member to drive the business. The basis of all of this is that people make pets, without the ideas behind pets would pets exist in the modern for and have the consequences to other animals?
Training your dog is the most important part of canine companionship. A happy dog is one who has structure and boundaries. Dogs are pack animals, and as such, they need guidance in the behavior that you expect from them. If you don't follow through in this leadership role, then the dog will naturally feel as if it is his place to do so. A dog that understands that you are the leader will naturally be easier to train.

As princesses of the canine universe, Annie type dogs have a loving yet manipulative personality. An Annie dog assumes the role of queen bee. As leader of the pack, she keeps everybody in line. She dominates all of the other dogs, often by physical herding or malicious growl. Tough the tough façade she has created does not accurately represent her entire personality. There is a bit of a diva atop Annie dogs’ fur, especially when anger causes the hairs of her back to stand on end. But, she is not all diva. To other members of the canine breed, Annie types seem rough and tough, but whenever a familiar human is thrown into the dynamic, Annie dogs know how to suck up. Immediately, rolling over and showing off the pink exposed skin of the belly. They loose their rough edges and show off the sweet puppy that still remains beneath the growling front. Annie dogs become the epitome of loyal, loving pets. Being the lightest sleeper’s in the canine world, Annie types will awake at any noise, exemplifying how they protect familiar humans from creepy and questionable humans. They always come when called, even if it means leaving the hot trail of a chipmunk or bunny rabbit. Annie dogs fulfill the loyal and protective branches of man’s best friend’s quality list.
The day has come in my household where poles are being taken for the next family member. After careful consideration, my family and I have narrowed down the new family member to be either a dog or a fish. At first glance, I thought these two animals to be on completely opposite ends of the spectrum of pets, and after careful consideration, dogs and fish have a good bit of similarities and differences. Both animals need to be fed daily and kept in a clean environment. However, these differences will be the determining factors as to which new family member wins. The differences in dogs and fish are found within their habitat, interaction, and levels of activity.
Dogs are wonderful creatures. They are loyal, dependable companions if given the opportunity. In recent years I have come to the opinion that we could learn something from these animals. We should also take a look at the manner in which they are being treated. Abandonment, irresponsible breeding, and neglect are only some of the ways that humans are failing the canine species.
The perfect dog sits, stays, rolls over and shakes .the very moment you decide to take on that puppy thats what most people think the puppy will be nothing but a cute playing little dog with good manners, “you must rely on the solid foundation of these seven things socialization, housetraining, sit, down, stay, come, and to walk nicely on leash. “ (De Vito 16)..From the beginning people have learned that a obedient dog brings upon many benefits for both dog and human. In reality when people get that puppy most realise that it was not born with the commands that most associate dogs with.
It is much more important to be talented in many areas rather than to excel in one. The many talents gained will serve well in the future, and allow room for growth. This has proven to be true with Labrador Retrievers. Going as far back as the beginning, when their original purpose in life was no longer needed, they were still able to adapt, find their niche in society, and act as a service to others, which couldn’t be said if they had not been gifted with their multifaceted
Towards animal welfare comes the aspect of animal cruelty. Animal cruelty is a fairly recent subject that has affected society. Animal cruelty has now shown comparisons through human abused households. The concern is recent because as society changes humans attitudes change which now affects towards animals. Animal welfare is used to help animal cruelty, because decreasing the violence between animals and humans can help the regulations of animal welfare. Research and testing have become more prominent and a strong concern to the public on the treatment on animals. Many activists today are trying to change the view people see toward the animal they have as a companion. Ethical issues are the many concerns about animals and the question always asked is,”who has the right to control the animal?”
