The physics and science that go into throwing a football are very complicated. You must take into account all of the factors around you, as well as figure out the best angle to send the ball where it needs to be. Throwing a deep ball is all about using the right angle with the right amount of force. I want to find out at which angle is the best to throw the ball the farthest. The angles I will test will be a low angle at 15˚, a medium angle at 45˚, and a high angle at 75˚. The force throwing the ball will be the same and the tight spiral will be assumed constant, so the only factor changing will be the angle at which the ball is being thrown. I suspect the medium angle (45˚) will send the ball the farthest.
Strength alone doesn’t always determine how far someone can throw a football. The better your form is, and the angle that you throw the ball, is more important than just your arm strength. The inventors of the modern day football have come up with the egg-like shape for it to travel the best in a tight spiral. When the ball is being thrown, it follows a curved path called a parabola. Gravity is constantly pulling on the ball, forcing it to curve down at the highest point.
Since other forces such as wind resistance or drag acts upon the ball in such a fashion, the ball should make a tight spiral as it travels through the air. If the ball was thrown with the ends perpendicular to the ground, the increased surface area being exposed to the wind resistance causes the ball to quickly lose speed and it wouldn’t be able to travel as far. “In addition to throwing the ball point first, the passer’s grip and release cause the ball to spin on its lateral axis, and he benefits from the aerodynamics of the ball’s ellipsoid shape.” Machin, ...

...ow as well, which is why it’s so hard to actually throw the perfect ball. As I do the experiment, I will measure the distance each ball travels and find an average distance for each angle. This will give me my final analysis on which angle is best to throw a football the farthest.

First off, when kicking a football, you have to factor in several things. You need to know what the distance is from the spot of the ball to the field goal and what direction you’re kicking the ball. You also have to factor in the direction the wind and how fast the wind is blowing. If the wind is blowing towards the field goal post, it will most likely increase the distance it will travel. If the wind is blowing away from the field goal post, the distance you can make a field goal will decrease.
As I was doing research on this assignment I came across a web page about the effects of gravity on mars as it specifically relates to the projectile path of a curve ball. I know that you cannot believe everything you read, especially when it comes to internet content, but the issue is still worth noting. I will mention this effect when the topic of spin on the ball is discussed. Gravity was the other force that was mentioned by the scientists. This isn’t too particularly exciting, because it’s always in
Also, it was stated that because of the elbow angle at foot stride and ball release that the shoulder joint was affected more so than at any other time. Finally, in order to understand why the injuries occur we should learn the joint ranges of motion so we can develop better preventive methods for injuries.
By getting to this power point it leaves the maximum potential energy. That potential energy is put into kinetic energy and the ball is thrown, ...
Ever wonder if the weight of a Frisbee affects how far you can throw it? I have. This experiment is designed to figure out if a heavier Frisbee goes farther or closer than a lighter Frisbee.

When one throws a baseball properly they are using there entire body to generate a large force to propel the baseball. A general throwing position starts with a person rotated 90 degrees from there target with there throwing arm 180 degrees from the target and parallel to the ground. The person then starts rotating their body back towards their target while there throwing arm starts bending until it is almost 90 degrees to their elbow, while the arm is bending at the elbow the throwing arm is rotating such that the arm rotates back almost 180 degrees from the target. Meanwhile the person is leaping forward with the leg that was initially pointed at the target while there other leg is planted into the ground. The person is bending at their waist and the other arm is rotating into their body. Around the point where the driving leg strikes the ground the throwing arm is rotating foreword at a tremendous angular speed and the person lets go of the ball. At the point where the ball is let go the persons body pulls the planted leg forward and the throwing arm finishes its motion towards the driving leg.

Imagining myself as a high school soccer coach, I would like to optimize my team’s kicking performance. Some players consistently kick the ball successfully with the correct use of power and accuracy. To ensure that all players are able to achieve the same optimal kicking habits, this paper will document (1) the effective and ineffective habits of kicking, (2) describe biomechanical based kicking assessments, (3) describe how these assessments will measure the effective aspects of kicking and expected findings, and (4) provide suggestions on how I may modify programming based on the insights gained from these assessments.
The problems and injuries that come with playing football have been obvious since the beginning, and to this day are still being discovered and researched in hopes of finding solutions so that the sport is not so dangerous. Malcolm Gla...
First of all, the rules of football require one to equip himself with approximately twenty pounds of equipment, including a helmet, shoulder pads, and girdle pads. This is because football has the most contact involved out of all sports. In a football game, the norm is that the home team wears colorful jerseys and the visiting team wears white jerseys. Moreover, if a team’s offense is on the field, their defense is on the sideline. A team’s offense includes a center, who snaps the ball to the quarterback. The “QB” then has a choice to run with the ball, hand it off to a running back, or throw it to a wide receiver. The quarterback has an offensive line to protect him from the assailing defense. If a teammate happens to score a touchdown, he earns his team six points, which allows for the kicker to kick an extra point, and give his team a total of seven points. However, if the offense fails to travel at least ten yards within four attempts, or “downs,” they have the opti...
This investigation aims to determine the ideal air pressure inside and the ideal material of a ball in order for that ball to achieve its greatest bounce height. This report will be focusing on how the air pressure and material of a soccer ball, basketball and volleyball affects the bounce height of each ball.
Association football is played in agreement with a set of rules known as the ‘Laws of the Game’. The game is played using a sphere-shaped ball of 71 cm circumference known as the ‘football’ or ‘soccer ball’. Two teams of eleven players each participate to get the ball into the other team’s goal, thus scoring a goal. The team that has scored more goals at the end of the game wins. If both teams have scored an equal number of goals then the game is a tie. Each team is controlled by a captain.
