Philosophy of language is concerned with four central problems: the nuture of meaning, the language use, language cognition, and the relationship between language and reality. Philosophy of language can check human language, how is associate to human thought and understanding, how language is used. In the past, there are many errors of language so,it made mistakes in communication. People do not know about the nature of language. Philosophy of language can improve weakness of using language. Moreover, philosophy of language have benefits. For example, people can use language correctly both understanding and acting. It makes cognition together. It compromises a different opinion.
Making philosophy of language is between philosophy and language. Philosophy of language has implication for logic, ethics and history.
Philosophy means love. When human use heart to learn language, it will better. Also, if people love something, people will make that thing good.
Man have to find something that their do not know and attend to learn seriously. Language using have concept, theory and reason. These are acceptable in society. People use language as a material object. Language is social in nature and language helps people to convey a message. Language is how humans communicate with each other. Language empowers, language makes the person’s needs known and language expresses what the person wants people to do. Language is how people interact and language makes a person’s identity, emotions and opinions known. Language helps a child to make sense of their world. Being different from other species in the world, we, the human, occupy our own language and thought. We use the words that we have learnt to express what is in our mind, as well as the emotion since we learnt how to talk. In modern days, the conversation skills is more and more emphasized and it becomes one of the skills that we need to possess in order to survive. Therefore, learning how to speak and why we need to speak appropriately becomes the tasks that we need to consider in our live.
Philosophy is the study of examining and thinking about questionable ethical problems and/or generally accepted certainties. Philosophy aims at knowledge that combines a variety of academic fields as well as convictions, prejudices and beliefs.
Long ago, in the Ancient Greek Period, the term philosophy was introduced by Pythagoras, a Greek mathematician. The etymology, the break down/literal meaning, of the word philosophy breaks into two parts: philo and sophia. Philo makes reference to wisdom, while sophia makes reference to a brotherly type of love. The combination of these two words, philosophy, can be directly translated into “the love of wisdom.” Philosophy has been described as the “mother of all sciences.” But philosophy itself, unlike other sciences and curriculum, is somewhat open to interpretation. There are certain things that are fact about philosophy, such as its history or rules that it plays by, but the term philosophy can be juggled. Philosophy is the basic need that humans have to accumulate answers to any questions they may have about life, continue pondering questions and answers to everything known and unknown within human life, and to try and understand answers and questions they may find while helping spread the word to those around them through language.
Next, we shall evaluate the key features of language which are; communicative, arbitrary, structured, generative, and dynamic. Communicative, language can allow one to interact with another. According to Willingham (2007), the bond found with the elements in language and what they mean is arbitrary. The way language is set up shows how the symbols are not arbitrary. The set up language shows precisely how intricate it can be. Generative, one is able to build countless number of meanings from words. Dynamic, language never stays the same, therefore it can be known as sporadic. According to Willingham (2007), changes are being made all the time as new words get added and as the ways of grammar change. These elements can be quite critical when it comes to language.
"[H]uman knowledge is organized de facto by linguistic competence through language performance, and our exploration of reality is always mediated by language" (Danchin 29). Most higher vertebrates possess ‘intuitive knowledge’ which occurs as the result of slow evolution of species. However, the ability to create knowledge through language is unique to humans. According to Benjamin Whorf, "language…. is not merely a reproducing instrument from voicing ideas but rather is itself the shaper of ideas…. We dissect nature along lines laid down by language" (Joseph 249). In addition, the development and acquisition of language seems to be related to "complex sequential processing, and the ability to form concepts and to classify a single stimulus in a multiple manner" (Joseph 178). Antione Danchin suggests that the knowledge we create through language allows us distinguish ourselves from the rest of the world to produce models of reality, which become more and more adequate due to the "self-referent loop" which enables us to understand ourselves as objects under study. This "path from subject to object," which is common to all humans, Danchin claims, suggests the existence of a universal feature of language (29).
Communication is essentially important in our daily lives. Some people are born with the ability to use verbal-linguist intelligence. No matter how people are able to communicate they find a way to address an issue and are successful to get their point across. This can be expressed in many different ways. The ability to take a word and use in the correct context takes great comprehension of its definition and meaning.
The word “philosophy” is derived from two roots that are “philo” and “Sophia.” Philo means love whereas Sophia means wisdom. Therefore, philosophy means the love of wisdom. In actual practice, philosophy entails study of, pursuit, and enquiry into wisdom. A good number of great philosophers have referred to philosophy as the art of thinking. Others have only defined it as the systematic study of human feelings and thoughts.
Language is the most important aspect in the life of all beings. Language is a link between meaning and expression that consist of signs and symbols which can be understood within a context. Therefore, human use language to express their inner thoughts and emotions, make sense of complex and abstract thought, to learn and communicate with others, to fulfill their wants and needs, as well as to establish rules and maintain their culture. The origin of language has been a popular topic for research study over the past two centuries. Thus, the philosophers and linguists have come out with some theories such as the divine source theory, Language Universals theory, and the verbal and gestural theory which can answer the question of how the behavior
When I think of philosophy I think back to my personal beliefs and experiences. Philosophy for me is a term that goes beyond choosing what's right from wrong, philosophy goes deeper that a decision. Philosophy for me is the roots of my being and what determines the way I live my everyday life. Philosophy refers back to the codes I count on to help me handle situations better and find the right path that will bring me happiness within myself.
As a conclusion I have to confess that language means much more than I thought before taking part on this course and before writing this essay. Namely, language acquisition have rather a biological and evolutional perspective, specially because language is something that human beings born with. Any normal newborn is capable to learn any language to which he or she is exposed. However other species of the fauna enable only to emulate the sounds of a word or sentence without understanding its meaning as they are not in possession of any kind of innate mental grammar. Only humans have such an inborn talent, such a subconscious operating system that makes them give rise to meaningful, grammatically correct sentences.
Language is a part of our everyday lives, and we can describe the meaning of language in many ways. As suggested in Gee and Hayes (2011, p.6 ) people can view language as something in our minds or something existing in our world in the form of speech, audio recordings, and writings or we can view language as a way of communicating with a group of people. Language can be used to express our emotions, make sense of our mental and abstract thoughts and assists us in communicating with others around us. Language is of vital importance for children to enable them to succeed in school and everyday life. Everyone uses both oral and written language. Language developed as a common ability amongst human beings with the change
In conclusion, language learning has extensive area and to host a lot of methodologies and approaches. These kinds of approaches prove a huge of support to effective teaching and learning. Every approach has deficiency. Especially pre-methods approach like Grammar-translation and silent way methods. The importance issue is teacher aware of difference in these methods. In the past time or modern time are not the same but the teacher should set up to relative between to each other. All of the methods or approaches should be known but the most proper method/approaches should be chosen for cultivating effective language learners.

Speaking is a natural ability given to most reluctant individuals. Since the beginning of time, it has been assumed that we have a right to speak and use words, thus we naturally begin our development of language during the early stages of live. After years of grasping and perfecting our vocabulary and language, it seems unnecessary to study the purpose of our development. Why, then, should we study “oral communication?” There are many purposes, benefits, and institutions that branch from oral communication. Of course, communication is the basis of interaction with other individuals through the use of expressions and words; however, through studying oral communication, one can take the words and expressions being used and apply them to his or her own life. After all, the most effective and useful knowledge is applied knowledge.
