I was woken by a pressing against my chest. Though I was blinded by blood and my whole body was in pain, I felt safe like someone was there to help me, but who would it be that filled my heart that made me feel safe. That was, what I thought about before I fell asleep to very heavy eyes, but behind my eyes, there was something more. ‘A beautiful morning it was as I walked down stairs, jake was there the second I stepped off the last step of the stairs. Jake was the only dog I have ever owned and I was always there for him. Although I have many friends Jake was the only one who really cared for me and was there to comfort me when I was in need. My mom was in the kitchen making me a lunch box for my day. My mom was always someone I had a …show more content…
Because it was march, I have to be very careful not to get in any bears way while hiking because it was the seasons of their cubs. I got my green backpack and filled my water bottle and made my way to the park. The trail at the parks goes for many miles and I know it all by heart. Jake has always loved these hikes and was always having a time of his life when I brought him. It was a perfect day for hiking not too hot and not too cold. I was walking and I was enjoying myself when I felt like something was wrong. I didn't know what it was but there was something. Suddenly I heard something a similar tone and a gruff growl. I was suddenly struck by something big, powerful. I tried to turn around but a shot of pain hits me from the back of the …show more content…
There was something familiar in there this time. It was Jake he is the reason that he was still alive he is the reason I living heartbeat. Jake was the one who fought off the bear such small thing has so much power for a friend he loves. I opened my eyes and no one was there so I closed my eyes and when back to sleep. The next day when I woke up I was greeted by my mom. “Good morning, would you like anything” my mother uttered as she walked up to me. “Jake” I murmured. My mom was slow to answer but said he saved my life. I asked her “ where is he,” I asked worrying “he is gone, he did it to save you he meant a lot to you he fought off the bear and brought a rescue crew to you. You were everything to have such a great friend,” she slowly exclaimed. I was heart broken I was there at my friend's death it was all my fault. I lay helpless there in the hospital while my friend was dead because of me. I lay there all night thinking of what I have done and what I could have done
It took about an hour to climb to the top of the mountain because the higher we got, the steeper it was and the more challenging it got to climb because of the loose gravel and rocks. Once we reached the top of the mountain we sat down on the floor to eat some hot Cheetos and drink some of our Gatorade. After catching our breath, we began to take pictures and we saw a skunk on the opposite side of the mountain away from the park. We had never seen a skunk before so we were eager to take a picture with it. As we began our journey down towards the skunk, there was a huge rock on the edge of the mountain that I wanted to stand on and take a picture so that I could capture the beautiful scenery in the background. Smiley wanted to take the same picture as well but when he stood on the rock, it tilted over and rolled down the mountain along with my brother. He was holding the lantern when he fell so I no longer had any light. The only light source available was the screen on my phone and the flash on the camera. The first thing I did was take a picture of the bottom of the mountain to see where my brother was at. To his luck, he only suffered a broken leg. So he wouldn’t think about the pain,
Jake, Lucy’s neighbor was a well-educated kid. He was 15 years old and lives in an old timber house with his parents. Jake’s father was a farmer and had lived in the area since he was a lad. The area seemed to be haunted since creepy tales about all sorts of beasts was told. People even claimed that they were awakened some nights by a howling. Mostly people believed that it was a feral dog but Jakes father incised that it was a wolf, a ghost wolf. He was sure since he had seen a wolf in the forest when he was in Jake’s age, but none believed him. He kept telling his son about the wolf and Jake wanted to find out the truth. Lucy knew about Jake’s curiosity, at the same time as she decided to escape from her unbearable father. So she lied to get Jake by her side on the endless escape from the futureless community. She said that she knew where the wolf’s lair was. Jake got even more curious and joined her wolf hunting-adventure.
It was a sunny day the trees had no leaves because they were all on the ground. It was a little chilly and the sun was slowly going down. We went to my aunt's house and put the vest and leash on him. At first Joshua was scared he just stayed still not moving. Then curiosity occurred and he started running around the yard really fast. My dad said “ just follow him don’t pull on him! Just follow him around.”He was happy he did a binky. A binky is an expression of joy from a bunny. Bunnies jumps into the air, often twisting and flicking its feet and head. I remember him running and digging in the leafs. Then Joshua ran into a bush. He really scared me his leash got tied he panicked and started pulling. My mom screamed “ let go, let go.” I slowly let go while my mom unraveled it. I remember my heart beating really fast it all happened so fast His leash was almost undone, we picked him up and redid it. After that he wasn't affected by the event he was fine. I was really glad we caught that the vest almost came off because if it did he would just keep running and we would never be able to pick him. Even though it was a scary situation i was glad he still got to run around and be happy. Joshua was fine he was really happy later. I'm glad i connect with “Dirk the Protector” it made the story
I try to walk faster so that I can finally get to my destination but the walked seem like it was taking years to go there. As if the walk through the dark valley would never end. The full moon was shining very bright and the stars were out as I heard the sound of the gust wind, I don’t know why my heart began to beat faster, faster and faster. So then I began to run because of how frightened I was, as I was running I tripped over that seemed to be hard almost as if it was a bone. I fell forward and landed on my face, having my face painted towards the grassy muddy ground. As soon as I tried to get myself up something was licking my ear and screamed so loud that my echo was heard in the valley. I looked to where it was licking my ear and noticed it was a black dog with grey eyes. I was trying to figure out if he was a wolf or a dog but then I noticed his tongue and teeth and knew it was a dog. The dog seemed to want to play with me he immediately continued to lick me as I was scared for my life. I finally got up and walked away because I just wanted to go home where I was safe. The dog continued to follow me right behind me every step of the way. I began to run so that he stopped following but I was wrong he ran with me and even faster than me. He continued to follow me until I was home, I stepped inside my house and he wanted to step inside too. At that point I felt really bad for the dog and let him in. Something about this dog brought my attention so I decided that I would keep him as my
I awake to nothing but a dark space. My hands are strapped down and my neck put in a brace. I wonder to myself, “Why am I here? what happened to me?” All I can think about is my last memory.
Tiredly, I woke up the next morning with it still as dark as night (SM). Packing quickly, I made sandwiches to eat and headed out to the deer stand with my dad (PP). I like where we hunt because it’s an open field surrounded by tall pine trees and marshy land. It’s kind of a long hike to the stand from the road, so when I walked down the road to our stand I took small strides to muffle the crunchy leaves. I wanted to walk as silent as a mouse to increase my chance of that trophy buck, about halfway there I noticed a cool breeze flow down my back, this gave me the chills. My body wracked with exhaustion, because I hunted with a 300 win mag, so by the time we got to the stand my back
Squatting on the ground, I was weeping. I couldn’t see anything, not even my hand although it was not far from me. I made my eyes widely open to make sure if my eyes went blind or not. When it was around 8pm, I started looking for the window. Touching my hands on the corners of the room, I finally found it. I used up all my energy opening the window, but it was covered with hard dust and it was rigid. I fell down, and cried a lot. I couldn’t sleep throughout the whole night, because I was hungry and thirsty. In addition to this, it was cold in the middle of that night. I was shivering and coughing persistently. Time passed, and it was early in the morning, but nothing
I walk into the house, Dad is on the phone. I am just getting home from an amazing time at my friend Dimitri’s house. I look at my dad’s face and notice something is wrong, he looks up at me and makes throat cut motion; “Torae is dead”. Daniel, my best friend in the world, fell in love with an older woman. I accepted that just like everyone else, we couldn’t change his mind and there was no proof of statchitory rape. She was pregnant at the time of her death, and I’m afraid I’m going to get a call telling me Daniel has taken his life as well. That call doesn’t transpire. Two weeks have gone by; school is starting a couple of days. There is commotion in the living room, and ten minutes later, we rush to the emergency vet and beg for them to save our dog’s life, they only care about money and won’t help. I can see the desperation in my Dads eyes and hear the pleading in my mom’s voice on the phone. I already know what’s going to happen, I’ve accepted it. A lot of crying, but it’s my call whether we try to let Ruby make it through the night, and I say no. My mom had to say bye at work. And as we drive home, Ruby is whining in pain and her eyes have glossed over. We arrive home and I wait, and wait, for the ring of the gunshot. I start digging, anger, sadness, grief; it’s all going into that shovel. There is a plan of growing a peach tree, in the location of her burial. She was our oldest animal from Oregon, and now she is
But then he assumed it was just the wind in the trees or his mind playing tricks on him. As he sat a little longer he heard it again. “SALVA”! As Salva began to search where the sound came from he finally met eyes with his father. He couldn’t believe it. Was this for real? Yes, there was his father jogging quickly towards Salva. As Salva realized that he wasn’t dreaming he began to sprint towards his father. When they finally came together Salva jumped into the arms of his father. They missed each other so much. Salva’s father explained that the rest of his family was safe and healthy. Salva was so relieved that his father was alive and they were finally reunited and he wasn’t alone anymore. Salva was overcome with happiness and joy to be with his family again after such a trying experience in the
I woke up one morning ready to go bear hunting with my papaw. me and him had to load the dogs up so I went and got them. We took off as we sped down twenty-mile road and out of nowhere they were roaringly load. We cut the dogs off the box they were out of there like a bolt of lightning. It took my dogs Sundance and Lilly nine hours to tree the massive black bear. We had to drive from about one end of twenty mile to the other which was about four hours of driving to get to the tree. When we got there, I got out my gun and started to go to the tree when we got there I loaded the gun and got ready to shoot there it was setting in the closest fork up the tree,
I was still feeling quite ill, so I made myself a cup of tea and went to bed. All I wanted to do was close my eyes in the hopes of waking up to a better tomorrow. The high pitch sounds of sirens startled me into consciousness the following morning. I quickly grabbed my robe and dashed outside.
Afterwards I woke up in a sewer system, and while looking around, it didn’t look too bad. I was on a bed, and looking around, I saw lanterns hung up on ropes, and…. a figure in a corridor next to my mattress. I wasn’t so sure if he or she was an ally or an enemy, and I realized that it could mean life or death. But despite the fear of death, my curiosity took over, so I gathered myself up, and I walked over to see who it was, and I was surprised, and very confused, to see a familiar face.

He pulled me closer behind his back. He was about to die for me. This was strange for me because nobody would risk their life for me. Not in this situation. Not when you knew you could die. I was scared I didn’t know what was about to happen. I was trying to keep a positive mind. I only tried to be positive because the tiny door cracked. Tiny, wrinkly, green fingers with long nails poked through and more joined in. I knew my only friend was about to be stipped away of his life.
Suddenly I awake at the noise of sirens and people yelling my name. Where am I? Those words radiate out my thoughts but never touching my lips. Panic engulfs me, but I am restricted to the stretcher. “Are you ok?” said the paramedic. I am dazed, confused, and barely aware of my surroundings. Again “Yes, I am fine” races from my thoughts down to my mouth, but nothing was heard. Then, there was darkness.
