I am Ivan. I am a gorilla. It's not as easy as it looks. The One and Only Ivan. By Katherine Applegate. This book is a very interesting book. Ivan (the Gorilla) is always looking for something to do. There is also other characters such as Stella (the old elephant), Bob and Snickers(the dogs), Ruby(the new elephant), Mack(the owner), Julia(the girl) and George(The janitor). Ivans dome is very small. It’s made of glass and rusty metal, three of the walls are glass. The wall that is not glass, is painted. It is painted like a jungle. His floor is cement. His dome is located in a building what is called the “Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade.” The ring, is in the middle of the mall, Ivan
Being written with a third-person omniscient point of view, as reader it is easy to pick-up the thoughts and ideas of all characters. Originally it is thought that in the beginning of the book that Mud will be the only main/dynamic character, but upon reading further into the book, Tall-Time (closest thing to Mud’s love interest), Torrent (Tall-Time’s best friend), and Date Bed (Mud’s best friend), all will be discussed and their development into complex characters will be another focal point. The author is very creative in her way of developing characters. She almost tries to dedicate each chapter to one character, or another chapter to the relationship that certain elephants share with one another. The dictionary and family tree that she creates within the prologue also add a certain sense of knowledge for the reader; those tools make the reader feel as if they already know things about the characters and their situation. This makes the use of elephants as the main characters, not as farfetched as...
Betty Boop Minnie the Moocher is an interesting short cartoon film that is created by Max Fleischer and it is highly attractive in the way it is presented. Betty a small daughter is chased away by his father by not eating. Betty does not believe in loneliness and knows what to do next and the steps that could save her, as she calls Bimbo to accompany her in the journey. The orchestra and cab Calloway dancers made the movie because of how they try to reveal the theme of the music.
I loved the book To Dance With The White Dog, by Terry Kay. When I first
In the story, the children are the dominant ones. They manipulate and boss around their parents to get exactly what they want. This is much like the lions in the African veldt. The lions are the most dominant creatures in their environment and they intimidate the rest of the lesser animals. Therefore, the lions symbolize the children. In addition, the lesser animals represent the parents. They are afraid of their children, as are the smaller animals afraid of the ions. The parents give their children whatever they desire in fear of their children becoming
Like all books, Animal Farm the book, is different from Animal Farm the movie. One of the reasons is the characters. Some of the characters that were in the book were not in the movie. Those were characters like Mr. Whymper, Clover, and Mollie. In the movie, Jessie, the dog that was only mentioned in the first chapter, replaced Clover. Jessie narrated the story, was the main character, and was in the story the entire time.
were many more animals in the farm. The movie did not show many animals except
James, Henry. "The Beast in the Jungle." The Story and Its Writer: An Introduction to Short Fiction. Ed. Ann Charters. Boston: Bedford Books, 1995.
The farm contains a variety of animals. The ones who hold the most dominant roles in the story are Old Major, Snowball, Napoleon, Mr. Jones (who is actually a human), Boxer, and Squealer.
About a week and a half after Christmas, I went to stay at my grandmother's house while my parents were away. When I arrived, my grandmother handed me a small wrapped package. I think that I must have expressed my confusion very visibly because my grandmother immediately backtracked. "You know how it is," she said. "I buy Christmas presents all year long then I hide them so you won't see them. By the time Christmas comes around, I've already forgotten about their existence, where I've put them is a mystery to me too. I found this one in the pantry next to the Malt-o-meal." I nodded and opened the gift; inside the packaging was a tiny and fragile-looking porcelain doll. This is rather how I imagine Ivan the Terrible dealing with his library. Only instead of forgetting about a relatively meaningless doll, Ivan IV (The Terrible) forgot to tell anyone about the location of his fabulous, fascinating, and very important library.
In the Novel To Live by Yu Hua animals are presented everywhere by the people within the story. The main character Fugui is significant to an ox. Long Er is significant to a fox because of his sly tactics with how he cheated Fugui and his family out of their home. Youqing is significant to a lamb because of his childish behaviour and innocence.
The Tale of Peter Rabbit was a fictional story for children written by Beatrix Potter. The main character of the story was Peter Rabbit, who had three sisters by the names of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail. The four bunnies lived with their mother, Mrs. Rabbit, underneath a huge tree in the woods. All the characters displayed the element of anthropomorphic because they are dressed in human clothing and display human characteristics such as walking straight up on their hind legs. The three sisters were wearing a pink to reddish cloak, Peter Rabbit a blue jacket with brown shoes, and the mother a blue chambermaid dress. While Peter Rabbit’s sisters were obedient little bunnies who gathered blackberries, Peter Rabbit was a naughty, disobedient and mischievous young rabbit who gave into temptation rather than to listen to direction.
Beside the physical changes, Ivan Ilyich becomes very rude to the people around him, especially his wife after his illness. While he and his wife always had some conflicts, things become especially tense after Ivan's illness. It goes so far as Ivan wishing thinking about how "... he hated her from the bottom of his soul" as she kissed him goodnight. This feeling goes both ways, as Tolstoy writes about how Praskovya felt that..." her husband had a dreadful temper and made her life miserable... and how..."she hated her husband. She began to wish he would die..." By contrast, at the funeral, Ivan's so-called friends seem unaffected by Ivan's death. Whether or not the illness changed them, we don't know, since we didn't see what they were like
My first reason why I ask why those animatronics but why a bear, a bunny, a chicken and a fox? In the book they're is four main animatronics Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy. The three Freddy, Bonnie and Chica are on the main stage to perform their music and songs for children. Well Foxy has his own stage to tell the kids stories at Pirates Cove. There are other animatronics like Henry's and William Afton’s old animatronics like Golden Freddy and his buddy Spring Bonnie from their old restaurant Freddy’s Family Diner. Well then after a few years after Michael's death and in the book Carlton said when he was trapped in a spring lock suit of a old animatronic torso and he saw his eyes in the Golden Freddy suit. Well why I think those animatronics
However after many months I had finally learned the alphabet. It’s was finally time to read my first book. Junie B. Jones y el autobus tonto y apestoso By Barbara Park which translates to Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus. The story followed a young named Junie B. Jones, and her experience riding a school bus for the first time. I could relate a lot with this story because I was still new to riding the school bus too. After a bit, I started reading any books that look interesting to me.
Fur, Joseph, Joz, Adri- While the children had areas in the classroom the children played imaginative play. They pretended they were a family of dogs and the feed the dogs bones and treats and threw birthday parties for each
