When I was young, I used to stand in front of my mirror in my bathroom and imagined I won an Oscar reward. Consequently, I recited my speech. Each time, I used to find differents way to thank people, tell how glad I am. There was only one thing that didn’t change: the way I would be grateful to my family. The family is an identity, a part of a person that he cannot change. Nowadays, in westernized society, it is the nuclear model family that predominates. The nuclear family consists of a pair of adult (wife and husband) and their offspring living in the same place. Media, with TV shows, movies, has reinforced and produced this way of life. This model may find a reference to the 1950’s society. For most American, the 50’s refers to a peaceful and rich decade. There are also now as the “ Generation Me“ where the individual entity prevails over the familial entity. According to Robin Marrantz, a freelance writer for The New-York magazines “ Generation Y has pushed back each of the five milestones of adulthood: completing school, leaving home, becoming financially independent, marrying and having children.“ The new generation that is considered as young adults is not ready to follow the path of their parents and the society. Indeed, this generation has been educated by some principles that are totally contrary to families values. They grew up with the belief that they are important. Personal accomplishments are therefore more relevant that creating a family, that is why the average age for marrying has increased with the Generation Y .Indeed, before acquiring a status, a job, and a family, they want to travel, visit the most countries they can before they gain some responsibilities. Subsequently, we live in an aging of the population because of the non-renewal of the population. Young adult is moving away from traditional family customs to a system where friends are the new families. The traditional model family is challenging by the modernity. Our society is in constant evolution, so family models tempt to readjust itself to introduce new perspectives to the model. However, the role of family on someone has never changed: this model allows us to grow up
