PPDIOO Life Cycle
The network life cycle is an important set of processes and standards during a network development project. There are different methodologies when developing a network; however, I am going to focus on the Cisco standard known as the PPIDOO model (Wilkins, 2011). This model is a powerful methodology for the design, development, and implementation of networking solutions (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2009). The reason this model is so powerful is that it describes the entire network life cycle from the project to the network becoming part of the business process; however, it is also this reason that its implementation has to be clear and precise. PPIDOO includes the phases Prepare, Plan, Implement, Design, Operation, and Optimize (Wilkins, 2011). It is during the optimize phase where you run the most risk with the project turning into a process, so developing a highly detailed project plan during your planning phase is essential to keep the project in scope.
The Prepare Phase
The prepare phase includes understanding the needs of the business and to help justify the costs of implementing new technologies in their current infrastructure (Balaji Sivasubramanian, 2010). You will also determine the overall goals of the project needed for success (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2009). This is also when you should start planning for security by evaluating what data’s sent or stored on the network, determining what security measures need implementation to protect this data (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2009).

The Optimize Phase
The optimize phase is where your project ends and daily operations begin. This is where the proper planning of the project is most important, as this will determine the overall success of the project. Without proper planning this phase can cause your project to run longer than expected causing you to go over budget.
During the optimization of the network, the company will watch for errors and inefficacies (Semperboni, The PPDIOO network lifecycle). This phase includes optimizing the network to ensure it will handle all daily operations and workloads, and then ending the project allowing the company to take over the continued optimization of network.
This phase is the main focus of the project managers and stake holders. Meetings with managers, stake holders and users are held in order to determine the requirements like; Who is going to use the system? How will they use the system? What data should be input into the system? What data should be output by the system? These are general questions that get answered during a requirements gathering phase. After requirement gathering these requirements are analyzed for their validity and the possibility of incorporating the requirements in the system to be development is also studied.

In addition, though not discussed herein, the PMBOK Guide recommends regular risk reassessment and control of the change request process (2013). Finally, SFC should determine a meaningful means of identifying, collecting and cataloging lessons learned for future projects. This will help them develop and enhance their project management maturity through the use of relevant data for use in future projects.
Talking directly to the stakeholders will help answer most of these key questions. For IT projects meeting the key stakeholders in a forum to review progress on the project is key to its success. Therefore a well drawn up project plan will ensure that there is enough representation of the stakeholders at the regular project review meetings.

The second stage is measure, and it is the stage of collecting data and facts and evaluating current operational performance. The third stage is analyze with the purpose of developing methods and theories that will best suit the solving of the problem; it is also a stage of detecting cause-and-effect ties of the processes. The systems planning phase is the first phase completed in the SDLC. It encompasses evaluating the feasibility and the cost of the system, identifying the risks involved with implementing the system, and determining the responsibilities of each of the team members. To begin the planning phase, a systems request is submitted to the IT department, detailing the problems and changes to be made in a system. (Rosenblatt, 2014). It is important to note that the request may be a large, significant request, or it can be a smaller, more minor request; however, each request should be addressed using the systems development life cycle. After the request has been made, a feasibility study is conducted that determines the costs and benefits of the new or improved system. The study then recommends a strategy that is best for the system in terms of technical, monetary, and time factors.
It is difficult to discuss the principles of the logical design without first discussing the importance of planning and analysis. After all, the goal of initial network planning is to ascertain enough information to create the logical network design proposal. Logical design begins by determining the need of the users. How does the business use a network to share information? What services does the network need to provide? What resources are needed? What are the requirements for network protocols, applications, performance, and security? These are the most important questions to consider in the beginning stages of design.

However, in some cases we need to develop strategies for them to improve their efficiency, improve their machinery, install backup generation, etc. In these scenarios, a team is developed with the consultant being the project manager or point man. Therefore, these projects require the four functions to be followed so we can develop the best possible solution. The first function used is “Planning”, which allows us to outline a strategy catering to the specific needs of our client. In the past, this company has used over 50 different systems to measure performance management. Even with the large amounts of different systems to measure performance, only a fraction of employees were receiving performance reviews, and less than 5% of employees received the lowest category of ratings. The planning process can generate the consultations and conclusion regarding response that compose the content of the plan. To be able to successfully write out a plan, you must know the resources, goals, and the interactions of different units within the community, find out the priorities of the community is the most reliable source to help the community. The goal is usually set standard goals, stating with the first goal which is the protection of the public health and safety, followed by the second step which is protection of property. The first and most crucial step is to create a solid plan. Plan should include the techniques, tools and data that are going to used in the project. The responsibilities of all the members should be distributed at this step. The utilization of resources and budgeting of the project should be done here. Management tools such as probability and Impact Matrix, FMEA are useful at this point.
