Introduction Juvenile delinquency due to gang relation has increased drastically. Many people fail to realize that gangs have much of an influence on the decisions juveniles are making. They are easily influenced by the members of the gangs and manipulated to commit certain crimes. As juveniles they are not mentally and emotionally mature so it is easier for gang member to do as they please with them. Juveniles become a part of gangs for many different reasons, for example, protection, governmental, and social issues. Overall, gang engagement has a negative influence on juvenile.

Youths from disadvantaged neighborhoods have more of chance in engaging in criminal and gang related activity because they feel the need to have protection. As a juvenile in an area based on violence it can become a struggle for them to feel safe, therefore looking to gangs or “protection agencies” becomes a norm and the key answer. Juveniles of these areas feel as if the only way they will survive is with the help of certain gangs. Some maybe being bullied or scared into joining once in the gang they feel a sense of relief because they fee that they now have protection. Communities can have an influence on the choice adolescence make. Aide form protection juveniles can turn to gangs for guidance. Many adolescents form urban areas deal with broken homes and have no one to look up to they feel no guidance from anyone at home so turn to the streets. They look up to the gang members because they feel they are the only ones who care for them. If we are exposed to violence we become a part of the violence. We learn from other behaviors and grasp on to what others do. Juveniles in troubled neighborhoods are impacted by the violence that they witness in their living area. Juveniles are a product of their environment and seeing the crime and violence they begin to see crime and violence as a way of life. They do not see anything wrong with violence and engaging and crime and feel that it is just a part of everyday life. Juveniles learn form those around them and are sometimes pressured into joining gangs. They may see some of their peer engaging in violent act or gang related activity and they feel that because their friends are doing it they should to. They are influenced by others and learn from others actions. People that witness violence daily see it as and everyday
