In the epic story of Beowulf, Beowulf has multiple battles with multiple beasts. Beowulf is a famous warrior and is greatly know for his outstanding battles. Beowulf fights a demon named Grendel and his mother. He also fights a vicious dragon that just wants victory. Beowulf used his strength, bravery, and courage to fight these creatures but Beowulf's battles with these creatures are quite different. Although these battles are truly different, they always trace Beowulf down as a hero whether successful or not. First battle Beowulf encounters is with Grendel. Grendel is a vicious creature that attacks when Herot was too loud. Beowulf and his men try to strike Grendel with their weapons but they are not successful. Beowulf ends up killing Grendel with his own hands. Beowulf rips Grendel's arm off, eventually killing Grendel later on, and brings it inside of Herot. Beowulf is triumphed and the people of Herot worship Beowulf's heroic accomplishment by hanging Grendel's arm from the ceiling and celebrating. …show more content…

Grendel's mother is seeks revenge and kills King Hrothgar's trusted advisor, Aschere. After Grendel's mother seeks revenge, Beowulf knows he has to go defeat her. Beowulf enters her home, a underwater cave, they begin to baffle each other. During the battle, Beowulf realizes the Sword of Hrunting lended to him by Unferth does not work. As Beowulf realizes the Sword of Hrunting is not successful, he finds a giant's sword in the cave and tries to use it on Grendel's mother during the fight. Although Grendel's mother almost gains victory, the giant's sword is effective and Grendel's mother is killed. Killing Grendel's mom doesn't stop him, Beowulf finds Grendel's dead body and cuts his head off. Beowulf is once again triumphed as hero again for his marvelous
