The Matrix: The Allegory Of The Cave

At some points of our lives, we as common humans being start to think and analysis certain question about

the world where we live. This is when Plato a Greek philosopher came in, he asked many of the questions we may

ask and we are curious about it like “why are we here? What is the point of all this? What is reality and what am I supposed to do

with or about it?”. To answer some of these questions he wrote the allegory of the cave. This is the topic we have

discussed and analyze during philosophy class. The point of this analysis is to try to understand Plato’s idea and

discuss my point of view. He wrote a type of conversation showing in his ideas and discussion, and involucrate his

mentor Socrates and his student Glaucon.

I think “The Matrix” was based on the Greek philosophy. Is the idea that your mind and soul can be

free? The Matrix is more based of future than "The Cave" but it always goes around the same Idea.

The people from the movie thought that they were seen reality but they did not know that behind

that reality there was a machine managing their world. I think everyone that sees this movies have two point of

view; the one that probably every person will want is that they would not change the matrix, because they are

living in a plenty happiness with ignorance. Then we have the other point that is when you want to know the truth

because you would not want to live in a lie. I think I would choose to know the truth, because I would not like to

live behind

ignorance. In my opinion knowing the sad truth makes you work for a good reality. It means that maybe if the

people of matrix would know the truth about their world, they would try to change it for a better place; Instead of

living in a lie. “Living is Easy with Eyes Closed.” This quote could be a good example for the people who
