Everything on this poster is a part of me. Everything you see has a deeper meaning. Every word is not only a word, but a symbol of something hidden. My strengths, weaknesses, goals, and inspiration all take the form of a vision; a vision for the certainly uncertain future. Each section is different, representing the future, past, and present mindsets of myself. The present is represented by news headlines about the world. Things like, “This Land Is Your Land,” and, “Cycling Towards Oblivion,” take up the bottom row, showing our present. Yet, in these times, words like, “Good”, “Power”, and, “Celebration”, represent light in times of darkness. While these words can be taken as good or bad, they represent the “now” version of me; of the world. The past is represented by a poem from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring: All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost. A passerby may take a glance, assuming I picked out pretty, colorful words to fill an otherwise dark paper. In the end, that is what it is about, right? We are the paper, and as we grow and learn, we become more, a colorful collage of strengths, weaknesses, hopes and goals, and the otherwise obliviousness to it all. Everything going on around us is data, some of which we can comprehend, some of which we don’t take a second glance at as it passes by. How can we, the young kids with dirt on our noses, be expected to know ourselves as much as we know something we are taught, like science or history. Because one cannot simply be taught about themselves; they have to understand their feelings, and learn how they think, as you cannot fully conquer life unless you play to your
