Here I will be showing you why some animals are more dominant than others, and their adaptations. An example of a dominant species in the savanna is the lion. Its adaptation that it has is the fact it has sharp teeth and claws. A lion feeds on anything in its biome because it's such a fierce predator, and and has the speed and strength to beat out all those other species. The lion feeds on all the animals below it because it has very unique adaptations that allow it to stay at the top.
The Lion is one of the most powerful and fearless animals in the entirety of the universe. It kills anything ruthlessly and without mercy, some even kill their own young. If it wasn’t obvious, the Lion’s mind is very different compared to ours to the language they speak to what they think and feel, but maybe some Lions are not the ones we see in the zoo. Just like how some monsters are not the ones under the bed, maybe the true Lions are the people walking around on two feet. What if they have the face of a man or woman? What if they are the ones seen on the news for the horrific actions they have committed? What if the Lion is the person children are taught to prepare for and be terrified of? What if the Lion is the true fear of all parents?

In nature, the mountain and plains zebras are found in Africa’s grasslands and tropical savannas. A savanna is a grassland ecosystem characterized by trees. Grevy’s zebras live in Africa’s sub-desert and arid grasslands. Zebras of all species live in these type of environments because of the open plains, grasslands and herds. Herds of ostriches and wildebeests give zebras more protection from natural predators.
A pride generally consists of three to thirty lions. According to a magazine article, “African Lion”, from the National Geographic, “ Prides are family units that may include up to three males, a dozen or so females, and their young. All of a pride’s lionesses are related, and female cubs typically stay with the group as they age” (“African Lion”). Female lions, or lionesses, will typically stay with one pride their entire life. When a young male lion ages, he will eventually leave his pride and go establish his own pride(s). Young males will sometimes wander for years until they are strong enough to lead their own pride. Generally the adult males of a pride aren’t related to the other lions in their pride.
The jaguar is unlike the other cats of the wild, though, meaning he will gladly swim for his food. The jaguar’s list of preys ranges from fish to deer to crocodile-like animals. The jaguar is occasionally referred to as the “predator of all” (animals). The beast is called this because “jaguar” is derived from the word yaguara, which means “animal that kills in a single bound”, as well as παν and θηρευτής meaning “predator of all”. (San Diego Zoo Animals) The hunting techniques of the beast depend on the habitat it is in. For example, if it was in a jungle area, surrounded by trees, it would climb up a tree around its prey, then jump on it and therefore killing it. Although the jaguar has many techniques and characteristics, it is not a limited animal by any

Their mother made Jim and Jake spend time with their brother instead of going to a huge party with their other friends. They all lived in a small eastern town called Rockport but it was known for the famous Rockport Zoo.
Because the lions are usually kept in fenced enclosures, they never stand a chance of escaping, fighting back, or surviving. Hunters kill these animals solely in order to hang their heads, horns, or antlers on the wall and eat their meat. The hunters call this a "trophy hunt". " For Big Game hunters seeking a prized lion trophy, a canned hunt is the equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel. Some hunters and wildlife conservation advocates argue that canned hunting can help conserve threatened species. That for every captive lion killed, a wild lion is saved. Canned hunting has been banned or restricted in 20 states in the U.S. because of the connection between the practice and animal cruelty, and because it eliminates the possibility of a "fair chase." The lions are so used to being petted by humans and growing up to know humans they are not scared of the hunters. The lions will walk right up the hunters to greet them and the hunter will shoot him in the leg so the lion has to suffer. How is this legal? How can these cruel people be allowed to shoot innocent lions without allowing them a possible escape? And how is this even fun for the hunters? It's plain
