His life was a country song full of love and loss, passion and heartbreak — grief, loneliness, guilt, faith, melodrama and striving for redemption. Johnny Cash overcome all of this and became the king of country music. Johnny Cash was born in the small town of Kingsland, in the hill country of southern Arkansas. Life had always been strenuous, but when the Great Depression destroyed the tinuous agriculture economy of the region, his parents, Ray and Carrie Cash, could barely earn enough to feed their seven children.
