The Justified True Belief (JTB) theory of knowledge, often attributed to Plato , is a fairly straightforward theory of knowledge. It states that something must be true if person S believes proposition P, proposition P is true, and S is justified in believing in believing that P is true . While many consider the JTB theory to be vital to the understanding of knowledge, some, such as American Philosopher Edmund Gettier, believe that it is flawed. I tend to agree with Gettier and others who object to the JTB theory as an adequate theory of knowledge, as the JTB theory allows for a type of implied confirmation bias that can lead people to be justified in believing they know something even though it isn’t true.
Before getting into the specifics of Gettier’s criticisms of the JTB theory, it is important to first understand the context of the understanding of knowledge itself, and why it is related to belief. Some of the objections, such as the ones made by Edmund Gettier, claim that three conditions are not nearly enough to justify a true belief, and that at the very least a fourth must be added. Gettier presents a very valid criticism of the JTB theory of knowledge, and his counter examples highlight flaws in the JTB theory that make it an inadequate theory of knowledge. Gettier claims takes an issue with the third part of the JTB theory, which states that proposition P must be true. Gettier makes the interesting observation that person S may very well be justified in believing in proposition P even if P is false
It is crucial that every belief must be thoroughly explored and justified to avoid any future repercussions. Clifford provides two examples in which, regardless of the outcome, the party that creates a belief without comprehensive justification ends up at fault. It is possible to apply the situations in The Ethics of Belief to any cases of belief and end up with the conclusion that justification is of utmost importance. Justifying beliefs is so important because even the smallest beliefs affect others in the community, add to the global belief system, and alter the believer moral compass in future decisions.
The purpose of this paper is to show that Goldman's causal theory of knowledge does not solve the Gettier problem. First, I will reiterate the Gettier problem. Second, I will show how Goldman's theory attempts to solve the Gettier problem. Next, I will show how over determination points out a major flaw for Goldman's theory. Finally, I will demonstrate that Goldman's theory does not work if the world we live in is not one of absolute truth and void of deception.

Everyone has a different imprints and perceive their beliefs from their personal experiences. Beliefs dictate how we react to life. I will show that Kelly's response to the question of epistemic significance of peer disagreement is not compelling. In my explanation of Kelly's argument, I will show that it is contradictory of him to assert the first persons perspective and the right reasons view. I will then examine the third person perspective, and show that this is more compatible with the right reasons view. Nevertheless I will propose an objection in the form of a question. Specifically, why should the difference between first person and third person change my thinking skeptically? Would this view only be attractive from the third person view? The third person perspective, the right reasons view as Kelly explains it, plus what I will call external Validation of a belief makes a more compelling argument.
First, the knowledge of Forms is so vast. Forms are general properties independent of the particular object. Thus, Forms are inaccessible; they do not exist in our world, they are the “one”. And this contradicts with what Plato said that knowledge must be knowledge of what is real and exits. Second, the tripartite theory opposes the Form theory since it is so specific. The JTB theory main argument is that we only know what can be justified. And Plato did not proof that Forms can be justified. Moreover, Gettier cases are counterexample of the JTB theory. His examples become very famous, and because of them most philosophers now accept that JTB is invalid. In each case, the subject appears to have a JTB in a false proposition. Zagzebski defines knowledge by expressing the relationship between the subject and the truth proposition. A truth claim becomes knowledge when your state of belief makes cognitive contact with reality. What it is to know that you understand something is different from having a relationship with something. Propositional knowledge, that can be known or believed, is her focus due to simplicity. The criteria required for belief is to have a thought, followed by augmentation with experience. The minimal criteria for a definition of knowledge must incorporate two types of “good”; a moral and an ethical. These truths are implemented to develop the foundation on which Zagzebski later builds her definition.
The tracking theory of knowledge has four steps. The first step is a proposition is true . Step two is that someone believes the proposition. He states that a connection between truth and belief act as justification. This connection is steps three and four. Step three is that if the proposition is false, then someone will not believe it . While step four states that if the proposition is true, then someone will believe it . An additional fifth step is added later in the text which states that we must only use one method when coming gaining knowledge as the two or more methods may contradict each other and not allow us to have a proper knowledge of the subject .

What I do not like about JTB analysis is that you can find a hole in every one of the analysis that I explained above. I feel like people are trying to make the subject fit in a box that is too small to be put in. I think what is needed is to widen the area that is trying to be used to specify knowledge.
