The first version of a typing invention was invented by William Austin Burt and his invention was the Typographer. However, the first “typewriter” was invented by Christopher Latham Sholes in 1867. In 1868, Christopher had made the second model of his typewriter and he patented it on July 14, 1868. Many other creations and models of a typing device were developed before and after Christopher’s typing machine was invented. Many of these typing mechanisms were the same size and shape of an ordinary piano and way too heavy and large be a portable machine. When the typewriter was invented, it made a lot of writers jobs easier, typwriters made communication a lot faster, and they also helped students write their papers a lot faster. However, if you made a mistake and spelled the word wrong, made a grammatical error, or wrote down the wrong word, you would have to start all over again by taking the paper out of the machine, and replacing the paper with a new one. Nowadays, we have computers that help us go back to certain spots of our text and delete/edit mistakes, which helps us have better and more understandable pieces of writing.
