Therefore this leaves them distracted enough with each other that they end up being trapped underneath a tree and consequently eaten by wolves. Much of The Book Thief revolved around a common German family hiding a Jew. During the Holocaust and the book, Jews and other people seen as insignificant were imprisoned in concentration camps. Max, the Jew that the Hubermanns were hiding, could cause them to get into deep trouble. However, they still hid him. The Hubermanns lived in a town close to a concentration camp and often saw marches of prisoners through town. Even with a potential prisoner living in their residence, the Hubermanns, along with most everyone else in Molching, were unaware of the events that actually happened in the concentration camp and marches.

The difficult association between the occurrence of war and storytelling is told through the eyes of Tim O’Brien; he explains that a true war story has a supreme adherence to offensiveness that provides a sense of pride and courage commonly found in storytelling. “The thing about a story is that you dream it as you tell it, hoping that others might then dream along with you, and in this way memory and im...
World War Two was marketed to the civilians of every nation as a cataclysmic struggle requiring unprecedented public sacrifices and involvement, and in the early years of the war, the fear of defeat, invasion and scenarios all too horrific to comprehend motivated Americans to sacrifice, work hard and build the staggering infrastructure that produced the Allies to certain victory. In these early years of the War (1941-1942), propaganda did not need to be more than fear-mongering, yet America was not yet fully invested in open warfare. American airmen, sailors, Marines and soldiers were fighting and dying, but the vast majority of the American military- to say nothing of its civilian p...

The first part introduces the captives of Austria’s Castle Itter. All but one (Cuckovic) barely resemble prisoners at all. The French notables possess fine amenities, stroll through the walled gardens, and play games at leisure. Cuckovic (Emir Kusturica), on the other hand, is Yugoslavian, the Castle electrician, and a relatively dirty-looking outsider. He insists he is being held against his will, but the other prisoners chuckle at his innocent demeanor and refuse to believe him. The S.S. guards jokingly say that he is ‘free to go anywhere he pleases… as long as it’s within the grounds’. ‘Captain Wimmer (Ulrich Noethen) has two hobbies’, the guards say, ‘painting and torture. And the captain needs his light to paint by. If it goes out, he’ll
...erlopers to come between us.” When Georg says this, he is practically asking for death. In many people’s opinion, this is why they both deserve to die with their wish to not have interlopers come between them, Ulrich and Georg set themselves for death. It is unlawful to hunt, or kill anyone. A person who seeks to inflict harm on another should be killed or imprisoned immediately.
“The Interlopers” by Saki relates to Bacon’s ideas on private revenge as two men are hurt in the act of seeking revenge. In the past, Ulrich Gradwits and Georg Znaeym’s families have fought over woodland full of game. The feud becomes personal as Ulrich and Georg’s feelings become murderous. On a winter night, both men hunt for the other on the disputed land and they come face to face, “Each had a rifle in hand, hate in his heart, and murder uppermost in his mind” (Saki 305). While seeking and hunting for revenge, Ulrich and Georg are crushed by a tree and injured. Although they hate each other, they realize they were stupidly fighting over a feud they had not started. Under the tree, they argue about who will be found by their team first as they wait, Ulrich speaks, “’Lying here tonight, thinking, I’ve come to think we’ve been rather fools; there are better things in life than getting the better of a boundary dispute’” and they agree to be friends (Saki 308). In the distance, they see what they thought was their...

This is proof that the message that Vonnegut’s intended message for the book was to show that was grizzly, fought by babies, and not glorious like shown in much of the media that was produced about the war those days.
At the end of the story y’all can assume that people died due to the wolves. Happiness you shouldn’t be mad at anyone in your life. Georg and Ulrich were not able to execute this due to the fact that they couldn’t make a change in their behavior for the better of them. Most people
