Since most people think that the “ideal” is impossible to reach, they are led to feel inadequate. The idea of perfection is a mere deception because, the obsession of trying to reach perfection is taken to extremes, perfection is based on individual opinion and there is no such thing as actual perfection.
The idea of perfection is completely individual. We base our idea of perfection on our interest, abilities, and style. What may be perfection to someone is totally not perfection to another. For example, Zeke Cohen in Ms. EN’s four red class discussion said, “My friends like blondes and I like red heads because we see perfection differently.” Although this is a silly example, it is one-hundred percent true. What are we really reaching for if everyone is reaching for something different? This is what makes perfection confusing. One person is reaching for their “perfection” while another is reaching for a total different “perfection”.
The whole idea is just a distorted opinion. Another problem with striving for the “ideal” is that there is no such thing. Tina Fey said, “Every gir...
Perfect: adj. ˈpər-fikt 1. Entirely without any flaws, defects, or shortcomings, is the first definition you find on dictionary.com for the word (perfect). Is this actually possible to attain? Has anyone actually ever been perfect? Or is it all in the eye of the beholder? These questions are asked by almost every girl, as we dream to one day reach the unattainable. This is especially true at the tender age of fifteen, where nothing seems to be going right with our bodies and everything is changing in us. This poem stresses the fact that as everyone realizes how unrealistic this dream is, the knowledge makes no difference to the wish. Marisa de los Santos comments on this in her poem “Perfect Dress”. The use of verbose imagery, metaphors, and the simplistic approach are very effective in portraying the awkward adolescent stage of a young woman and the unrealistic dream of being perfect.
Imagine a world where there are no crimes at all, where there are no personal possessions, and where religions are practiced everywhere - the “perfect” Utopian society, essentially. The general purpose of this society was so that “Man could live with his fellow Man and find personal fulfillment without doing harm to others.” It’s almost a given that this Utopian concept has been deemed as mankind’s ideal world, thus it having been sought after so fervently. With that so, it’s almost a foreign idea that perhaps, the concept of a Utopian society given could prove not to be as perfect or ideal as thought - perhaps, it could be self-destructive in itself, a non-permanent society. Yet, the question remains: how exactly is that possible?
Is there such a place where ideal perfection exists? Can our views on social, political, and moral issues ever concur with one another? The answer to these questions is simple - no. The world we live in today is full of social, political, and moral imperfections that hinder our ability to live a life free of evil. In Ursula LeGuin's The Lathe of Heaven, this imperfect lifestyle is the foundation on which the desire for a utopian society sits. The American Heritage Dictionary defines reality as the totality of all things possessing actuality, existence, or essence . For George Orr, the protagonist in the novel, his dreams actually become reality. Through his gift of effective dreaming, Orr can alter elements in the "real world" and is terrified because of it. In Orr's view, "This gift has been given to a fool, a passive nothing of a man" (LeGuin 121).

Everyone wishes to achieve different goals in their life. The goals help individuals reach a step closer to what they perceive as the ideal life. Therefore, an ideal life is not universally the same, but is centered on the individual. What is universal is a persons’ reputation whether
...arn, and cannot be made to forget. Humans all think differently, and can only cooperate to compensate. We cannot feel exactly the same on all of our subjects; therefore, in the process of being human, we are forced to work together, to mold our ideas together, and bring the best from all of our ideas, not just a single one. Humans all take things for granted and want to take the best that we as a race can make it, perfect. Perfection does not exist in this country, or even on Earth itself. Everything, living or not, has flaws, no matter how deeply buried, but not a utopia, nor perfection itself. A utopia simply cannot exist because it is perfect, and our planet, our world, our universe, is not. Perfection is only a thought that exists in our imaginations, and our thoughts, so all attempts to make it a reality, are doomed to creating Oppression, Sorrow, and Death.
Ever since humans have conquered or established a society, their imperative duty is to try to create a utopian environment. All you can think about in its perfect sense, no mistakes, just everything impeccable. Unfortunately, one can only dream. In which as we are humans, we make mistakes and therefore defeats the meaning of a utopia, and converts into a dystopia. The absolute contrary to what we desire. It all starts with one person sharing their perfect ideas, and illuminating a light to a darkness that every other person has. That light creates hope and the people follow that person in which then over time, gets consumed by some emotion or purpose and thinks of themselves and puts everybody else at ruins, creating a world in which those people wish they never pursued those ideas.
A perfect world is not possible, such as perfection. One example of a failed utopia is mentioned in the article, 4 Utopian Communities That Didn't Pan Out. In reference to the text, the best known utopian in America failed. This utopia is called Brook Farm. It failed
A healthy perfectionist will be in the pursuit of excellence and the unhealthy will strive for perfection. The Center for Clinical Interventions, (2009), said that perfectionism displays itself in someone in three key ways. Perfectionists begin by striving for extremely high goals or standards for their selves and for others. They are either able to reach their high goal and move on or they are unable to self-motivate and fall short. Perfectionists then judge themselves or others based on their results. This judging can affect the individual’s self-worth or how they value the person they set the expectations for. Finally the perfectionist experiences the effects of setting such high standards or goals. This individual is either going to bask in the glory, or be very unhappy with their selves and/or others (Center for Clinical Interventions,
Everything is seen to be perfect in the advertisement world. Society should be perfect. There is happiness and beautiful people. The truth is disguised.
...rough dehumanizing each individual by stripping away their natural rights of life, liberty, and property, but then it is only a false utopia, because people are no longer people without those rights (Locke 5-6). So ask yourself, is a perfect society worth losing your natural rights?
Most people have indulged in the perfect wine, made love to the perfect person while possibly wearing the perfect outfit. Or have they? Is there a such thing as perfection, if so can we attain it? No. Nothing in this world is perfect because it is impossible to create perfection. According to Plato's Theory of Forms, perfection cannot exist in the physical world but only the realm of the philosophers; the ones who choose to lurk deeper in the veiled mysteries of metaphysics.
Is it possible to recreate the idea of a perfect society? If yes , then the person in agreement thinks the idea of a perfect society or utopia is possible. A utopia is a place or condition of things in which everything is perfect or immaculate. But can there really be a place of complete perfection. Well , some may say yes and some have even attempted to run a utopian experiment. Others , may agree that the idea of complete perfection , just can’t possibly exist. Though some utopian experiments have been said to succeed , many have failed , consequently leading most people to believe a perfect society just cannot exist due to many factors such as improper governing , human survival , natural disasters and much more.
Girls, Aren’t you sick of living under society's idea of perfection? Nowadays, high and unrealistic standards are set for all women to live up to. Women are socially influenced to meet the criteria of the perfect outer image. People surrounding us, the media, and stereotypes of the ‘perfect girl’ are telling us we must have flawless bodies, confident and happy personalities, and an innocent outlook on life.
Perfection is a fruitless Endeavor, it is simply not a truth in life. many people in today’s society become accustomed to believing that only once you have grasped the very highest peak of the mountain have you reached success. And yet, when we humble ourselves enough to open up about tragic times, therefore, accepting that we are vulnerable rather than lashing out or falling into despair we become aware of the reality that there are always subtle perfections hidden in the darkest and seemingly most flawed places.
