Regeneration
“Regeneration” is commonly defined by renewal through the internal process of a body or system. Urban regeneration means providing bespoke and creative solutions to deliver sustainable new communities,it also means different things for different people that get the benefits of social, economic and environmental. Regeneration should to provide a better quality of life for those people who live and work there. Therefore, housing and buildings are the key issues for achieving urban regeneration.

For example the city center of Coventry, it has a rich history going back to before the fourteenth century when it was one of the wealthiest towns in British, but since the second world war, with the demise of the manufacturing industry, its past had become smothered by …show more content…

However, in my opinion the “regeneration” is including keeping and creating, that use the original parts to explore how to develop it to be more useful and make the building resurgence. Therefore, the building could become the “hybrid” architecture or add the modern elements to the old design. I chose three types of architectures, which are historic buildings, abandoned building and factories as my study cases.

HERITAGE AND REGENERATION
Firstly, the question is what are the positive qualities and benefits that heritage assets can add to a regeneration scheme. Obviously, it is depend on the nature of the properties involved, but mostly of the following may apply:
1. Historic buildings always the focal point that most people are familiar with that have the sense of place.
2. It will renew landscape and raise the quality of the building environment by adding a distinctive identity of design or structure to the new part of historic buildings.
3. It going to be the sustainable development
