The number of tourists declined dramatically since 2010 because Egypt’s constant political instability, which was caused by both the Arab Spring revolutions and a coup d’état. Memphis and its Necropolis—the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur is Egypt’s major attraction. Therefore, Egypt’s revenue from tourism is widely credited to that site and the pyramids. Also, the local people get to benefit from the tourists. Local people often have small business near the site where they usually sell traditional Egyptian items, such miniatures of the pyramids or the statues. The Temple of Hatshepsut is still an important piece of Egyptian architecture today because it helps the citizens today remember their country's history. The temple is also a very popular tour spot when travelling to Egypt. Although the temple has tourists that come the number of them has dropped ever since the terrorist attack there in 1997. However last year Egypt had 14.7 million tourists last year making 11 billion in revenue. In conclusion the amount of tourism in Egypt has definitely decreased since many issues with Egyptian rulers, and multiple terrorist attacks.
Egypt has a lot of interesting history for us along with many fascinating natural resources and culture. In Egypt’s history there have been many changes along with new pharaohs. The pyramids were built long ago in their history but still stand today. The Nile River is a special part in Egypt not just for the water but also transportation, fishing, and using the mud from the river to make things. The culture in Egypt is exciting. They had many artists, musicians, and entertainers who would perform for parties. There is much we can learn from in Egypt’s history and its culture, and this is just the beginning for all of the exciting and interesting things in Egypt.
Today, Egypt is known as a land of beauty and mystery due to the vast remains of numerous temples, majestic pyramids and divine works of art. Due to the harsh and arid condition of Egypt, that allowed preservation, many funerary remains have succeeded to modern times leaving many to interpret the rich Egyptian culture. These remains have emphasised the importance of religion and reinforced the beliefs of an afterlife following their deaths. Pyramids and tombs illustrate the importance of the pharaoh in Egyptian society and how they were perceived.
Thebes, Karnak and the Valley of the Kings modern day Egypt remains a significant interest worldwide.
Tourism impacts can be generally classified into seven categories with each having both positive and negative impacts. These impacts include; economic, environmental, social and cultural, crowding and congestion, taxes, and community attitude. It is essential for a balance on array of impacts that may either positively or negatively affect the resident communities. Different groups are concerned about different tourism impacts that affect them in one way or another. Tourism’s benefits can be increased by use of specific plans and actions. These can also lead to decrease in the gravity of negative impacts. Communities will not experience every impact but instead this will depend on particular natural resources, development, or spatial patterns (Glen 1999).
It is the economic effects of tourism which bring the most benefit to the host nation. Tourism is a low import user which means more of the money earned here stays here. The government is earning money through tourist taxes such as the airport tax, increased export earnings and income tax revenue from people employed by the industry. A balance must be struck between these benefits and associated negative impacts on the community and the environment.

There are some reasons: tourism includes a number of diverse sectors (e.g. transport, accommodation, attractions, other services); tourism includes a number of academic subjects -- some argue that as a subject tourism is conceptually weak; difficult to establish strict boundaries around tourism both as a business and as an area of academic study; weak data sources which make comparisons between countries difficult.
Tourism is often associated with traveling to places away from home. Tourism has a big impact on the economic growth of some countries, which define the shape of their cities by producing different sectors like historic districts, convention centers, museums, malls, hotels, restaurants, and the list can be endless.
