Now that winter has ended, it is time for Philadelphians to prepare their cars for the onset of spring and summer. A little maintenance can go a long way in preserving your vehicle’s performance; furthermore, preparing a vehicle for the seasons ahead may reduce the likelihood of you being involved in an accident on a dark, rainy night (due to low tire tread) or prevent the engine from overheating on a hot, summer day (because of an inadequate amount of fluid in the radiator).
Tires
Check the Depth of Tire Treads
For a vehicle to be as safe as possible, an adequate tire tread depth is essential. Tire treads are designed to grip the road, which is especially helpful during wet weather. While driving on a wet road, inadequate tread depth can

Keep in mind that tires may wear unevenly, which means that the tread depth on each tire must be checked at numerous points.
Other Signs of Wear and Tear
The tire, tread and sidewall should all be inspected for irregular or uneven wear. If there is excessive wear on the edge, shoulder and/or center of the tire, additional maintenance may be required.
Tire Pressure
Once the tread test is complete, your tire’s pressure needs to be checked. The pressure a manufacturer recommends for a specific tire (if the tire is original to the car) can usually be found on a placard that is visible when the driver’s side door is open: Other places the tire pressure recommendations may be found include the glove compartment and in your owner’s manual. Although there is most likely a number visible on the tire itself, this number refers to the maximum amount of pressure that specific tire can hold: That pressure is not usually the recommended amount.
How to check your tire’s pressure:
To obtain an accurate reading, a tire’s pressure needs to be checked when it is cold (not after being driven). Unscrew and remove the cap on the tire’s valve stem. Carefully insert the tire gauge into the valve
I can tell you right now these aren't going to hold a patch. They're shot through." (page 40). Mattie was exceptionally nice to Taylor and told her to come inside and have some coffee. After drinking a cup of coffee and giving Turtle some juice, Mattie came up with the idea that Taylor could work for her. Taylor, being the one who doesn't like tires in the first place, accepted the generous offer, but went almost nuts with the huge tire wall that surrounded her.
Many of us have gotten rock chips, but how many of us understand how those pesky rocks hit our windshield? A common misconception is that the car in front of us throws rocks "backward" and hits the following car's windshield. A rolling tire cannot throw a rock backwards. A tire is a rolling object, thus every point along the tire is moving forwards. There is no force going in a backwards direction. Only direction part of a rolling object can go is a combination of up or down, and forward.
Some where out there in the world, is a person who believes that driving a car in all four seasons is a piece of cake. But we all know thats not the truth. When it comes to both Winter and summer, they both have different temperatures and road conditions. In this paper I will be comparing and contrasting driving in both winter and in summer.
Blood pressure is measured by two pressures; the systolic and diastolic. The systolic pressure, the top number, is the pressure in the arteries when the heart contracts. The diastolic pressure, the bottom number, measures the pressure between heartbeats. A normal blood pressure is when the systolic pressure is less than 120mmHg and Diastolic pressure is less than 80mmHg. Hypertension is diagnosed when the systolic pressure is greater than 140mmHg and the diastolic pressure is greater than 90mmHg. The physician may also ask about medical history, family history, life style habits, and medication use that could also contribute to hypertension
Depending on where you live there are stark differences between driving in the summer vs. the winter. First there is the factor of snow and ice in the winter, and in the summer you get harsh rains. There are many variables that we could discuss in these next few paragraphs, but we are only going to be able to list a few.
From both foreign countries and the United States, complaints state that the tires lose their casings when traveling at high speeds. The tire maker claimed it knew nothing of the tread problems until late July, yet consumers have warned the company since the mid 1990’s (Nathan). It also stated that the complaints it finally received did not raise any “red flags” because in relative terms, few tires had failed; less than one in every 10,000 of the 47 million ATX, ATX II, and Wilderness AT tires produced since 1991 have failed (Nathan). Most of the recalled tires came from the Decatur, Illinois plant, the main concentration of the investigation. The company claimed that a workers’ strike at that plant in the nineties, when replacement workers made the product, caused most of the problems.
The similarities and differences between driving in the winter and in summer are numerous. Cars get us from point A to point B, and shelter us from the elements while we do so. Some cars may do a better job at sheltering us comfortably than others when environmental factors come in to play.
Carmakers have greatly improved factory installed wheels and tires. Just 20 years ago the average wheel size came in at 14 inches.
"A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty is a short story about an elderly woman named Phoenix Jackson. She is not only an elder, but brittle and lonely as well. For a good portion of the story, Phoenix is making a journey into town to find medicine for her sick grandson. Although she encounters many hardships on the way, she never gives up because she is on a mission to help the one she loves.
However, if you are out for a week or more with your RV than keeping it in a secure way is a must. On the other hand, during winter we don’t use RV that much so storing The RV properly is essential as well. You will agree with me that a RV is an expensive car! And you don’t wish to spend huge cash over and over again.
To begin with, the landing of the snow on the road caused many damages to them. This was because the levels on which the roads were raised were in different proportions. This, therefore, prevented lack of flow to be experienced on the roads. Moreover, the cracks that were observed on the roads came about because of the difference in the temperatures of the country.
Step 6: Next remove the flat tire from the working area. Flat on the ground behind your car is the best place as this will help prevent it from rolling into traffic and it will be out of the way as well.
pressure is the pressure of the blood in the circulatory system, often measured for diagnosis since
I know there will still be people who just won't change a tire, so for you non-changers remember to pack a can of Fix-A-Flat or its equivalent. Directions for Fix-A-Flat is on the can. In essence, stay safe, remember half the battle is being prepared and ready for it. Happy trails and safe treading.
From Ancient Mesopotamia came a revolutionary tool that has crystallized the world into the complex civilization it is today, the wheel. The wheel has commutated the very way we live and think about the world and all credit goes to Ancient Mesopotamia for providing this life changing invention. Wheels are everywhere we look and in places that you wouldn't even think. Wheels are used everyday in some way or another and come in many sizes and innumerable different materials and purposes. This prodigious invention has helped ancient Mesopotamians work, move, and live and still helps us today.
