The conference and meetings sector is highly complex, containing a variety of buyer and supplier organizations and businesses. For conference organizers (the buyers), the business of conferences is a part of their job. The suppliers include conference venues and destinations, accommodation providers and transport companies, and specialist contractors. Both buyers and suppliers work together and are supported by national bodies and associations, the trade press, and educational institutions, each contributing to the structure of this fast developing, global industry. (Timothy Jeonglyeol Lee, 2009) According to Volkshandel (1984), conference delegates are generally the ones which opinions could influence others about the place that are best to be visited. With their positive word-of-mouth opinions, international attendees could help to promote tourism in the place where the conference takes place by giving it a valuable impression. Needs of Association and Corporate delegates Conferences are a source of knowledge and inspiration to many professionals and employees. Conferences usually consist of a session of 15–40 minute presentations followed by 5–10 minute time for questions and answers and a break for refreshment and networking. Corporate organisations are companies founded mainly to make a profit. The types of corporate companies are AGM, board meeting, sales conference, and training courses/seminars. Today, the corporate conference and meeting planners organise a limited number of employees in high-priced classrooms usually at inconvenient times and the sessions usually are mandatory. Conclusion To deliver a successful conference, the important element should be the conference program itself that can fulfil the delegate’s needs by proposing them an opportunity to learn new skills, to keep up with new changes in their specialised trade and to listen to industry experts and well-known speakers. A right selected place can offer a positive effect and/or a better service, which could result in a higher quality conference. When conference organizers design a conference, they should concentrate their efforts on conference related factors, such as career development, knowledge, and opportunities for communication.
Corporation – “A business organization that exists as a legal entity and provides limited liability to its owners.” (Longenecker, Petty, Palich, Hoy, Pg. 205) The main advantage of a corporation is that the business liability falls onto this entity instead of the individuals that own it. The disadvantages of this organization are found mostly in its formation. A corporation is expensive to create and requires compliance with state

On one hand, businesses must be profitable to survive and corporations must earn a higher return on the shareholders equity than would be realized if the money were deposited on a no-risk bank account. The profits that are made create trust from investors and are usually reflected in higher stock-prices, which makes it easier to grow the company further towards its goals. The profits are not only a result, but also a source of corporate competitive health and wealth. On the other hand, companies are networks of parties and people working together towards a shared goal and not merely 'economic machines'.

The theory of hosting this conference on location looks good on paper. However, the considerable increase in overhead costs forces me to quickly pose the question, “Can we afford to take this risk and absorb the extra expense?” In processing answers to that question, I changed my proposal from potentially hosting three conferences on location next year to one. Taking on multiple conferences would be too far outside of the scope of the immediate need that exists.
While effective meetings are essential to any organization and to getting work done, most of the meetings I attend leave me looking for a decision. These meetings also leave me tired and somewhat disillusioned on the vision of the company. I think a good meeting is not dissimilar to a football teams huddle. It should bring people together, facilitate decision making, assist people in taking responsibility, energize the participants, and contribute to building team effort within the organization. From attending and running more than my share of meetings I feel successful meetings are ones where attention is paid to three areas; content, design and process.
After researching the impacts events have on regional development I have come to agree with the statement ‘The events industry is an effective and appropriate vehicle for facilitation of regional development’. The significance of this thesis is to critically discuss and demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the events industry and regional development while also providing an understanding of the history of events and the increasing significance of the event industry in contemporary society. Real life examples from around the world are used to recognize and justify the event industry as part of the tourism sector and explore specific implications to event management. Various sectors of the events industry are identified and discussed to support the theoretical discussion on how the events industry is an effective and appropriate vehicle for facilitation of regional development.
It should integrate all of the management decisions to focus on the goals and objectives of the events as well as those of the sponsoring organization itself. This integration may take several forms and maybe a subtle campaign to conceive corporate association and shareholders of the importance of their attendance and their personal vote on an issue. It may also be employed to conduct research to assist in the site selection process of the event.

From business conferences to weddings, there are events going on all around us, and where there are events there are event planners constructing it, putting it all together, while making everything run effectively.
