This section provides the theoretical framework of the link between post-conflict zone and the importance of economic empowerment of women. The study tries to investigate the hypothesis of whether women economic empowerment in the conflict zone can strengthen their development on livelihood. This paper offers the factors that make to improve the women economic empowerment and describes the necessary processes for development goals to be realized, and explains how traditionally subordinated women can develop economically to contribute in social change. In doing so, the proposed conceptual framework acts as a theoretical illustration of the women from the post-conflict zone and the importance to support economic empowerment.

The particular number of currently Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the region is unknown. Since the emergence of the peace process in 2011, several hundreds of thousands remain displaced, and have yet to find a ‘durable solution’ to their plight (UNHCR, 2015).” Post-conflict peacebuilding processes are offered major opportunities for expanding women’s rights and gender equality. In Myanmar, current economic situations of post-conflict mean that women are facing extreme income inequality and only have work obtainable in the informal economy in the most dangerous employment positions in the labor market (UNFPA, …show more content…
In here, economic empowerment involves the power to employment, income, property, productive resources and benefits regardless of gender differences. The women entrepreneurship is one of the process where women or group of women can start to organize and run business enterprise and provide employment opportunities to others. A woman as an entrepreneur is economically more powerful than a mere- worker. The more women's actively involvement in economic activities, the more leads to the women economic development. The involvement of women in entrepreneurship will offer a chance to use their free time, rather than being employed outside their homes in some other job. The appearance of women entrepreneurs in the economy is an indicator of women's economic impartiality and their social rank. Moreover, development of entrepreneurship among women has become an important feature of the inclusive economic development of women (Siwal,

Since the beginning of civilization, the role of men and women have been portrayed by their capabilities. During wars, men were asked to fight against enemies because they had the necessary strength to combat. On the other hand, women were asked to take care of the household chores and to give birth to increase the overall population of the country. This concept of roles has been highly present in our societies. Women fighting against the gender inequality have created a stir among the dominant group which are men. Since men are still more dominant and keep reigning in this world, often women are restricted from getting fair opportunities to achieve in their goals. Till now, women are forced to be obedient to men in certain societies. From past few decades, this perspective is slowly coming to an end in most of the society. Women are now being empowered by ideologies which is reshaping their identity in many societies.
Globally, women make up the majority of all the internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees despite their lack of involvement in policy and program designs targeting them(Amo et al., 2011). According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the internally displaced persons (IDPs) are defined as people who have left their homes for reasons ranging from natural disasters, wars, conflicts and have not crossed the borders of their own country(Venzke, 2012). Refugees are the people who have crossed their borders to settle in another country(Salah et al., 2013). Most of the IDPs and refugees originate from resource constraint
“Improving women’s access to technology has the potential to spur their economic advancement and stimulate broader economic growth. Regrettably, technology has been underused in unlocking women’s economic opportunities. The gender divide is evident in both traditional and modern technologies.” (Gill, Brooks, McDougall, Patel, & Kes, 2010, p. 2). More specifically, technological developments including adding machines, typewriters, addressograph machines, office communication systems, and automated telephones, changed the stigma of women working solely at home to finding paid labor outside of their homes. On the domestic front, a rise of technological developments in household appliances and better-quality energy in the 1920s, allowed housework to become less time consuming and gave women more time to find paid labor outside of their homes (Lorance, n.d., para. 1). Today, women share the same equal rights and opportunities as men; nevertheless, that has not invariably been the case. Before the Jazz Age era, gender discrimination between men and women in society was considerably popular. Women were seen as inferior to men. Their jobs were to care for the home, children, and other domesticated duties while men were able to work, get an education, and become doctors or lawyers. Many women like Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Ida B. Wells, Sojourner Truth, Zora Hurston, to mention a few, seen the unfairness in women's rights and fought for equal rights for women through different movements, efforts, protests, and even marches to abolish women’s rights. As a consequence, women now pursue not only higher education and higher paid jobs/ businesses, but their rights. One of the world’s most controversial issues among churches of today is the role of a woman. Many people are confused about the duty of a woman and how she is supposed to serve God because of history. History taught us to never deny someone of gender, race, or even diversity since he or she has human rights. However, this issue should not be viewed as men versus women because this is not a political issue; instead, it should be viewed as the structural of a church. Women should not be priests, pastors, or even rabbis for God condone women for being priests, pastors, and rabbis as well as proscribed.
For hundreds of years, an uneven distribution of dignity, respect, and overall consideration has been extremely prevalent among different societies and countries across man and woman. Gender inequality is the idea or situation that one gender is of less value than another, and this is caused by the perception of gender roles in our society. It can lead to violent outbreaks of hate between two sexes, unequal pay in the workforce, and discrimination. This issue has been affecting mankind for a countless amount of years, and it cuts deep into our history. Gender inequality continues to impact the population today, not only socially, but economically, and if we were to put an end to this dilemma, then our world would prosper substantially.

Throughout the international community, women have been a primary focus of the United Nations due to their importance to the economic and social balance in a country. The advancement of women is a vital issue concerning the world as the new millenium begins. Although the international community views women with high regard and of the utmost respect, ancient traditions, one sided beliefs, and false stereotypical propaganda, which demean and belittle women are existent in the world today. Historically, women have been victims of inequality and abusive practices, and due to this, many women never reach their full potential in the economic world. First, the primary root that hinders the progress of women is the inferiority complex at an early age.

Nowadays, entrepreneurship becomes most popular career, where our government encourages our graduated student to involve in business so that unemployment will not happen in our country. Policymakers, academics, and researcher agree that entrepreneurship is a vital route to economic advancement for both developed and developing economics (Zelealem et al., 2004). Entrepreneurship has many types for example small business and others. Today small business, particularly the new ones, is the main vehicle for entrepreneurship, contributing not just to employment, social and political stability, but also to innovation and competitive power (Thurik & Wennekers, 2004).
It is not possible to be entirely self-sufficient. People need support to do well in society; they need to learn from the mistakes that their predecessors have made, as well as their triumphs. Throughout the interviewing process, as well as the class of Women’s Knowledge and Power, the importance of gaining support, having mentors, and never giving up has become abundantly clear. Without mentors, teachers, and friends the world would be full of people making the same mistakes, and going in circles. There would be little to no progress made in the world, in all aspects of life. To have progress people need to learn what works well and what does not work at all. The only way to learn this information is to hear it from someone who has already been through the same situation, or to experience it for oneself. After interviewing Mary Rhodes, a lawyer and public defender, and researching how women are successful, the true keys that are always mentioned are mentors and determination.
