As citizens of the world, we have a responsibility to help each other and those in need: “When one considers our world from such an incredibly compressed perspective, the need for cooperation, tolerance and understanding becomes glaringly apparent” (Global Village, Nations Online, n.d.). Individuals can no longer use ignorance as the excuse to not help the less fortunate people in the world. With the global connectedness, no longer can you ignore the pain that exists outside of your comfort zones (Dixon, 2009): “ Approximately twelve percent of Americans are living in poverty, defined by the 2006 census as living below the poverty line of twenty thousand dollars for a family of four” (Census,Dixon, 2009). Coming to terms with the sufferings …show more content…
On one hand, people believe that if it continues, cultural globalization will lead to a dazzling marketplace where countries of all economic opportunities are represented and where more fortunate countries come to the aid of less fortunate ones with humanitarian efforts” (Dixon, 2009). If the World is in fact becoming a global village, will global leaders be able to reach some sort of consensus about how World issues should be addressed in order to benefit all members of society equally? If respectful cultural boundaries with regards to language, economy, and basic means of survival cannot be attained, and agreements on the implications of these cultural shifts cannot be reached, it is presumptuous to assume that the global community cannot identify as members of a global village at all (Dixon, …show more content…
Of course this impact is due to the explosive growth in Internet usage around the world, but a key factor in this regard is the peculiar nature of the Internet at a medium.

I do believe that we have the obligation to help people in our world but no in the way Peter Singer puts it we should let people live their lives make choices to help themselves but we should make it easier for them to help themselves. Financial aid from global powers is a good step but until we have the freedom to join a nation without going through checkpoints and bureaucracy the problem will still exist. Money can't fix the problem but better diplomatic relations and the freedom to do and be who and what you want would be a good

Roles of the Catholic Church in Western civilization has been scrambled with the times past and development of Western society. Regardless of the fact that the West is no longer entirely Catholic, the Catholic tradition is still strong in Western countries. The church has been a very important foundation of public facilities like schooling, Western art, culture and philosophy; and influential player in religion. In many ways it has wanted to have an impact on Western approaches to pros and cons in numerous areas. It has over many periods of time, spread the teachings of Jesus within the Western World and remains a foundation of continuousness connecting recent Western culture to old Western culture.-

Nowadays one of the most commonly used terms is globalization. But what does globalization mean? Does it mean dissappearing borders, a common trade unit, no tax in trade abroad, political awareness across the world, or, in extremes, even interfering with other countries' domestic affairs?
All in all, it can be seen that it is our obligation to help reducing the poverty and we can all do it as it can be done in spite of how much the fortune is along with our morality and no waste of our valuable time. As long as the world unites as one and the world citizens show devotion to help the world by reducing the poverty, the problem could be reduced to a point where there would be no poverty at all.
Internet as a medium has been a thoroughly discussed topic, especially in recent years with the rise of the World Wide Web. Analysis of relevant literature in the topic shows that the internet is not a new medium. This argument can be shown by looking more in depth into what defines a medium and what defines the internet. From that analysis by looking from a historical point of view the internet can be seen as an old medium which uses re-mediation to deliver content to users. The connection between internet and its users has helped the internet influence the way media is viewed today. Although the internet is not a new medium the content it presents is new. The advances in technology have helped the use of the internet reach new heights in terms of interest and it's capabilities are now being utilised by the masses. This rise in popularity has given the implication that the internet is new. These points can be analysed in more depth which has led me to take the stance that the internet is not a new medium.
The Internet has become a major tool for communication and access to information for over two and half billion people (Wright 121). Although Internet has become an unavoidable reality that is consuming our planet in a web of information. This process is being shaped by our actions and choices which ultimately drives us together (Deibert 11). Nowadays China has over 538 million netizens, the world’s largest online community (Feng & Guo 335).

The Internet has received a great deal of attention in the media lately due to its tremendous
Globalization has taken place in the past when state and empires expanded their influence far outside their border. However, one of the distinctions of globalization today is the speed with which it is transforming local culture as they took part in a worldwide system of interconnectedness. Through globalization, many cultures in the world have changed dramatically.
My own view is that I feel morally obligated to help the poor. Though I concede that at some point too much help can in turn hurt our development as a leading country. The issue is important because, according to writer Peter Singer, 1.4 billion people are living in extreme poverty today. That number is outrageous and we need to help it decline.
Has anyone ever considered thinking about what the world is really going through? How many people don’t have the necessities in order to survive? If so, what are these people going through? Poverty is the state of one who lacks a standard or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions. Sometimes events occur that changes a person’s perspective on life. Poverty is one that can have a huge effect on not only one person, but also the people around him/her. Over half of the world is going through this tragedy and we, being the ones who created it, have the responsibility to end it.
The internet has influenced, and is still influencing the way society communicates in many different ways. The rise of the internet has caused people to communicate differently in areas never dreamed of before the internet came into existence. Education has been revolutionized through the world of the “Information Super Highway”. Medicine has also seen reform as the internet improves research and communication. Individuals are starting businesses from scratch, while others are selling household items for extra cash. This internet “typhoon” sweeping the globe has become a way of life for many individuals all across the globe.
Loss of group identity and individualism because globalization promotes a western ideal of individualism. This advocate a homogeneous set of values.
