Cross- Cultural Leadership is important is to the social work practice because we would be able to communicate information about diverse client groups to other professional and that is very important to gain clients and leadership roles. This is why I picked this standard to write about, because I find this topic really helpful for social workers. Leadership roles in social work practice will not only disseminating knowledge about diverse client groups, but also actively advocating for fair and equitable treatment of all clients served. I find this helpful for clients to get better treatment when the social worker is a strong leader with their clients. Leadership skills are to empower everyone, to make a better understand of what a social worker does. I fill that leadership roles should be extend within and outside the profession to help the social worker and the client too. I believe that what Rank and Hutchison said would make a better situations for social workers is that social workers should come forth to assume leadership in empowering diverse client populations, to share information about diverse populations to the general public, and to advocate for their clients’ concerns at interpersonal and institutional levels, locally, nationally, and internationally (2000).
I feel that cross-cultural leadership will develop cultural competencies. I find that the indicators culturally competent social worker will take leadership roles and take responsibility to promote cultural competence within the social work profession and this will help with being a social worker. Another reason that cross- cultural leadership is important take leadership roles in communicating and disseminating information on cultural competency and client diversity to other professions through activities such as serving on committees, making presentations, writing articles, developing guidelines, and conducting research. Cross- Cultural Leadership is important is to take leadership roles in empowering diverse clients to assume advocacy roles within own organization and in the community and advocate for fair and equitable treatment for diverse groups in and outside of
profession. There are lots of other reasons why cross- cultural leadership is important is to create a proactive process that empowers individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities and to establish strategies for people and organizations within the profession to share information and learning with one another on how to engage in culturally competent behavior and promote culturally competent practices and policies. I find these very important to cross- cultural leadership for social workers. And I find that model culturally competent behavior in their interactions with client groups, other professionals, and each other help out why cross- cultural leadership is important.
The data provides culturally competent guidelines for social workers. The social worker must understand and appreciate diversity among and within cultures. They should be aware of the history, culture, and contemporary realities. They also must have good skills in patience, listening, and tolerance of silence. A social worker needs to be aware of their own biases and need for wellness and display humility and a willingness to learn. They need to be respectful, nonjudgemental, and openminded. However, researchers must find a way to measure cultural competence with studies that examine beliefs and evaluate actions of social workers. It should include several cultural groups.This will be highly important in building a knowledge base. Doing these studies there can be a better plan to include cultural competence and serve clients from different backgrounds a lot better.
First, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics Preamble (2008) states, “The primary mission of the social work profession is to enhance human wellbeing and help meet the basic human needs of all people.” In RCT, the goal is also to enhance wellbeing through the basic need for connection and growth-empowering relationships which is based on mutual empowerment for all people (Banks, Jordan, & Walker, 2011). In the National Association for Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics, there are many standards a social worker should uphold in order to promote a healthy and helpful relationship with the client. One such aptitude is Cultural Competence and Social Diversity, which is in section 1.05 of the NASW code of ethics (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). There are three sections associated with this competency “Social workers should understand culture and its function in human behavior and society, recognizing the strengths of all cultures”. It is assumed that “social workers should have a knowledge base of their clients’ cultures and be able to demonstrate competence in the provision of services that are sensitive to clients”. As a final point “Social workers should obtain education” in order to understand cultural diversity and oppression in people (NASW, 2008, p. 9).

In the social work practice, social workers should abide by and respect the protocol of their particular organization. The first ethical standard I would like to discuss is that a social worker having cultural competence and social (NASW, 1999).
