... occurred somewhere else around the city. Furthermore, the number of generated new jobs is not big enough to support spending half a billion of the city’s funds in order to establish the new mega project. In addition, the demographic factors and the relation between the city and its surrounding counties will have a call on the feasibility of the project and the projected revenues that may come turning the city into a tourist and sports fans' hub. Perhaps the only proponents for such a project are the local coalition groups that may influence the city to fund the project in order for their businesses to revive and in order to make use of the public funds to create new business for themselves. In sum, publicly financing a new stadium is not recommended, and their effect on the local economy is poor enough not to boost local economies and local government revenues.
First, the slogan of Adidas, "Impossible is nothing." It is none other but the discontentment and the enterprising spirit that make a metropolis from a small fishing village. For us Shanghainese, impossible is nothing. If you think you can, you can. Look, the maglev is galloping toward the future; the Oriental Pearl Tower is welcoming everyone from the world. Can you see Shanghai's height and speed? Listen, Shanghai Grand Theater is reverberated with the classical opera, Shanghai international film festival is filled with acclamation. Can you feel Shanghai's rich flavor of culture? Who insists skiing is only available in the north? Shanghai ski run makes it possible for people to experience the excitement of skiing within Shanghai. Who says the sea is insurmountable? Donghai Bridge successfully turns a deep chasm into a thoroughfare. Who considers the world expo a dream? It will be held in Shanghai in 2010.
Events are opportunities for business people to gain exposure for their businesses, promote new products or services and make sure accurate information reaches targeted customers.
Another economy growth, related to tourism, is the building of hotels, new homes, re-developments, office complexes, condos and mansions. By providing housing and resorts for tourists, the attraction will not only pull in tourists, but it will provide economic structure.
Of course the impact depends on the goals, but most of the companies want events to be more than just an advertisement for their brand. If done well, events have the power for creating a powerful and lasting impression of all that the company can deliver. By allowing the people to get experience and interact with the company, product or service while participating in an event, you will be connected to potential buyers.
you think that it will draw a huge tourist crowd if the whole town or
Transport is a political factor as it is controlled and affected by legislation. This will impact on the staff and opponents (travelling to the stadium) as the accessibility of transport will impact on travelling times – both positively (may avoid traffic on a train e.g.) and negatively (trains, buses etc. may be cancelled or delayed). The price of transportation will also affect the mode of transport that these groups of people may use. Similarly, price and accessibility of transport will affect the consumers also. The view that consumers hold on transport, therefore, is likely to impact on the business i.e. effort to travel, money to travel etc. as this will influence how often they will visit, what they will spend during their visit etc. According to (Mintel 2011,) the amount of people using train as a mode of transport is on the rise, mea...
Many employees in Dubai have a different opinion on how the Expo 2020 might affect the country. Abdulla Al Majeed, currently employed at Etisalat, argues how the Expo has its pros and cons. One benefit is that Dubai will have many foreign visitors which will cause the economy to bloom drastically. Dubai will have approximately 25 million visitors; therefore Dubai will make a large amount of money from all of these visitors. Another benefit is that it will provide approximately 270,000 new jobs in Dubai, as stated by the government of Dubai. While the Expo can be beneficial, one downside to it is that the traffic in Dubai will increase by a large amount. Since 25 million people will be visiting Dubai, all the roads will be packed.
The economy can be clearly identified as the most beneficial aspect of tourism. “According to recent statistics, tourism provides about 10% of the world’s income and employs almost one tenth of the world’s workforce” (Mirbabayev, 2007). In Australia alone, Tourism contributed $87.3 billion in 2012, and employed 908,434 (7.9%) people (Kookana & Duc Pham, 2013). Tourism is “one of the most profitable and rapidly developing industries in the world” (Popushoi, 2004). Every year the number of tourists increase dramatically and consequently the revenues from tourism will increase substantially.
The local culture and customs might attract the businessmen who are attending a conference in the city and give them a favorable experience, and then they are likely to establish their business operations there in the future. Thus business tourism can stimulate future investments for the destination.
Generally, infrastructure is divided into two main parts which involves hard and soft infrastructures. According to UNWTO (United Nations World Trade Organisation), (2011), the enlargement of tourist arrivals, went up by approximately 7% in 2010 to 940 million, has led to increase in the number of new and state-of-the-art hotels, restaurants, airports and other tourist apartments. The rising share of amenities illustrates the improvement of hard infrastructure caused by more tourist number. Other contributions of the industry to the former accessibility of electricity and water, better road systems and transport services are also involved in the related expansion of economic activity (cited in Boz, 2011). Besides that, tourism offers numerous positive impacts to the latter, according to OECD, (2014) “soft infrastructure” can be defined as the creation of events and spaces which shows the spirit and unity of that country’s culture. These forms of infrastructure programmes have been applying to both urban and rural areas in order to make the place more well-known and tourists attractive. For example, in Australia, 2007 several events including the Booktown Festival were held to develop marketing strategies and increase tourist numbers. The results were more satisfactory than expected with place-branding advantages, noticeable rural regeneration, growing tourist numbers and
