They started out as a brick shape and are now it is very thin and sleek, which helps the economy expand because more and more people want to have the new item as it continues to become more user-friendly and adaptive to modern lifestyles (The History of the Mobile Phone, 2014). When someone purchases a cell phone they usually sign a two year contract, allowing them to get a new updated phone for much less of the original cost of the phone at the end of two years. This idea is beneficial to the economy because people usually come back in two years and renew their contract to get the new phone, inspiring companies to continually innovate new designs and features. Also, most new technology items are made so they only last a few years due to contract styles, which saves money in production. Mobile phones also have helped the economy expand with their trade and interactions with other countries. Countries such as India are asking the United States for these phones because it will help grow their communities and their resources (Luce, 2011). Due to the prevalence of phones like iPhones or Androids, people always have access to news and social media in their pockets. Social media has helped politicians because they are able, for instance, to tweet during a situation that impacts the country, which people are able to see on their cell phones. Throughout the past years, politicians are able to tweet their opinions on important topics that impact the country greatly such as gay rights and civil rights. With the birth of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, young men and women were able to directly share videos and photos of protests across the country, getting the attention of national news. Many important people tweeted support for the movement, and it became a topic of discussion during the 2016 presidential election. In this article Mary Kate Cary opens up with the supreme court decision to not restrict the use of corporate funds in political advertising so that she can make her point that big money ads are not the most effective way for candidates to reach American constituents. She argues that social media is a new way for politicians to connect with citizens. Her five claim are that Americans can now, choose the media they wish to consume, share the media they choose the share, like posts they agree with and dislike posts they do not agree with, connect with others on social media, and donate to candidate campaigns online. The main purpose of this article is to examine the correlation between how often a politician’s name appears on social media and the subsequent electoral results. The article looks at 542,969 tweets mentioning electoral candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2010 and 2012 elections, and compares this data to the candidates’ electoral performance.

Many people in today’s society rely on technology to help us with our daily lives and help us stay connected to family, friends, and other people. The advancements in today’s cell phone technology is very complex and made to be efficient for their owners, allowing them to surf the net and IM message people instantly. Cellphones in particular have developed very fast in the past 15 years. From my childhood, cell phones have evolved from the old school Nokia bricks that allowed texts, calls, and simple graphic games, to todays I-Phones that have higher computable capabilities than some computers. In the United States alone, there is an estimated population of around 297 million people, and 197 million people are subscribed to cell phone companies (Starr). With so many people in today’s society with so much power and opportunity in the palm of their hands, we shouldn’t forget that “With great power comes great responsibility” –Voltaire.
The focus of this analysis will be on Mr. Trump’s use of social media sites, namely Twitter. Mr. Trump has a twitter feed that according to Amber Phillips of the Washington Post, “Trump tweets, at minimum, 10 times a day, nearly every day. These phones are typically slim and sleek and have countless versatile abilities. However, cell phones have not always been so “smart” or small for that matter.
