The Hunt It all started on a sunny Sunday morning. We all had our memory erased when we first got in here. I don't know what or why I am in here for. All I know is that something bad is going to happen. I am in a prison cell with five other people. I never thought that I would end up in such a place. I tried to leave several times, but they always threw me back in here. They are called The Keepers. They have kept me in here for what seems like forever. I have to get out of here somehow. My cell mates said that today was the beginning of hunt. I have heard many stories about it, but I am not quite sure what it is exactly. They basically let us out for four days to see how far we get before they come get us and drag us back into the cells to get killed later on. Their main goal was to kill us or let us kill ourselves. Every night they sent out the guard dogs to collect all of the bodies of the people who died on the hunt days. There are also different kinds of traps …show more content…
I didn't find another shack to sleep in, so I ended up sleeping on the ground under a fallen tree and some leaves. The dogs didn't find me but something else did. It was a hideous creature that was covered in burrs and blood. It came at me quick and clawed at me. I dodged it's paw and grabbed an axe that I found in the shack and swung fast and hard at the animal. The animal fell instantly. There was blood all over me and the ground. As soon as I figured out that it was dead, I dashed further into the woods. As I was running, I saw one of my cell mates stuck by a huge spike in his calf. His calf was gushing blood and he was screaming for me to help him. I decided to help him, so I pulled his leg off the spike, poured water on his calf, and quickly wrapped his leg with my shirt and using a thick, flat stick as a splint. Then, I spotted another shack about fifty feet away from the trap that my cell mate was caught in. I helped my cell mate to the shack and we stayed in it through the the
It has been too long since I last wrote to you, so I thought I would inform you on momentous events that happened in my life in the last little while. The previous time I heard from you was when Gabriel turned three. I can’t believe he is about to become a teenager now. My goodness, time flies by so fast. I was so ecstatic when I saw your prior letter arrive in my mail.
When I first arrived “Lisa” The girl that I shadowed told me that there was an emergency with one of the animals. It ended up that a one-year-old beagle ate an entire thing of metabolite, and then slowly started to die. The liver had shut down, and the heart rate was up to 300. Lisa told me that taking a thing of metabolite was like taking 50 cups of coffee at once. The owners of the beagle were there and bowling. The beagle’s name was Murry. Murry's body slowly was shutting down one thing after another. The owners made the decision the dog was going to be put to sleep. We got the dog ready to be taken out. They undid all the cords from the dog so they could take it to another room. I said goodbye to the dog, and then they took it into the other room so that the owners could be there when they put him to sleep. After that happened they then had to put a sleep a little hedgehog that had cancer on its mouth. We then did two regular checkups with one cat and with one dog. Those when great. After that we had a dog come in and it ended up having an affection that might end up killing it. I never heard the end result. The last thing that I did there was that a black lab had been bitten by another dog, and that dog ripped a hole in the neck of the black lab. The doctors had to perform surgery on the dog to close up the holes in the neck. They first had to clean it out with qutips. And blood stated to come out right then I was a little dizzy and I thought I was going to faint. But thank god I didn’t. I saw a cat get dental work on it. And a cat get a bath and they had to blow dry it and brush the hair while it was a sleep.
School was coming to an end and I thought about how Scout’s teacher didn't want her to read. I couldn't stop reading I enjoyed it too much and so did scout, I wondered if I would have reacted the same way scout did. One day after coming home from school, I saw scout with a Big stash of gum. After she told me how she got it, I started thinking the worst since I am her older Brother. I knew to scout was stubborn and wasn't going to get rid of it so I threaten her by telling her that I would tell Cal which is a fight scout wasn't up to fight. Why would there be gum in a tree and why was it out of all places in the Radley tree? We waited until what was forever for school to be over and for Dill to come. After all Dill had become a close friend
Of the 58,148 killed in Vietnam, sixty-one percent were under the age of 21. Mark Wright had just turned 20 the day he was killed. A land mine turned his beautiful face into a mess of brain matter and skull fragments and his once strong body into nothing but indiscernible pieces. I watched him die the first week we got to Vietnam. He was my best friend. We grew up together, went to school together, we went to war together, and we almost died together. Religion and superstition weren't really my thing until I was drafted. I found God in those short days before I left. Day in and day out I prayed. I prayed for me, I prayed for Mark, I prayed for anything to stop that God forsaken war before I had any participation in it. My research hadn’t
The swings creaked on the ice as Joe Bennett sat on one lonely swing dressed in black. Cold fingers ran to his mother's locket. His Mother Elizbeth Bennett's death crushed him like it crushed her. A man called in sick that day at the mines. He called she filled in for him and that was it. He couldn’t understand why it had to be her.
Prologue 2015 – Villa Forenza Senior Apartments Las Vegas, Nevada You would think that a woman surrounded by so much drama in life, wouldn’t go nuts over people knowing she was found catatonic—but you'd be wrong. When ‘Crazy Ava’ learned that the biddies of Villa Forenza had stared right inside of her door as paramedics treated her, she was livid. “You were directly inside the open door, lying on the couch,” Blanche Davis told her. Blanche was a woman who had been in style a century ago.
2.32. The number that looked me in the eyes my first quarter of Junior year and told me I was a failure. 2.32. The number that causes a chill to go down my spine. Asking to go to the bathroom during class so I could make sure that I read this right. Could it have been a mistake? I'm sure I got more B's than this. 2.32. I had chosen to blame my father for this hideous GPA. I had chosen to blame my teachers for buying their teaching license on the internet. I blamed everyone else, but the one who was most guilty was looking back at me in the mirror. I had been the cause for this junky GPA. I had let all the events in my life get to me and expected that I would get my usual GPA by never doing work, never asking for help. I had isolated myself for a few months, I couldn't do homework
PROLOGUE: “Mr. Ethan Winters and Mr. Lucas Baker will live together under one roof for the duration of time it takes to get them new identities issued under the witness protection program.” The man in a sharp black suit reading off the paper in front of him looked up at the two men in question. Both of them looked absolutely petrified. He went on to read “You will be provided a house to share in Portland, Oregon. All expenses already paid for.
I don't think that the kids won't meet Boo. Boo used to be in a gang when he was young. Him and his gang friends would just do annoying things. When a kid was running past the Radley's house he saw Boo stabbed his father in the leg. The kid called the police and the police wanted to lock him up. But Mr.Radley said I will just lock him up in my house. Mr Radley is the only one that comes out side the rest of them never come outside. Mrs Radley goes on her porch to water her plants and thats it. The kids are scared of him because they say at night when everyone is sleeping he peeks through people window. One girl says she woke up at saw him standing there. But when she got up, but when she looked out the window he was gone. The kids say he is
It felt like years. Every so often a rat would come up and i would catch them and eat them to survive. I felt myself becoming very very weak it became difficult to even open my eyes every day. I was sure I was going to die, I could feel it. I started thinking what would have happened if I would have just accepted my fate, and burned to death by the closing firey walls. I would have died faster that is for sure. I would not be suffering so much. I decided it was time to sleep once again so I layed down on the board and said to myself “I am never getting out of here” then I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep. I was later woken up by a conversation above. “How long ago did you close the walls?” The French General asked. “Well sir, it has been about two weeks” Bob explained to the General. There was a long pause and then the General asked “I mean are you sure he is dead?” They must have walked away cause I could not hear them any longer. Once the voices faded away I thought for sure I was going to die down here. I lost all hope and immediately regretted not allowing the walls to crush and burn me to
After the biguns meet up to talk about piggy,“[They] had grown up tacitly among the biguns the opinion that Piggy was an outsider, not only by accent, which did not matter, but by fat, and ass-mar, and specs, and a certain disinclination for manual labor”(p 65). The use of diction in the quote exhibits that the children think they are adults, in the use of a complex word disinclination . But the way in which they it say that they had “grown up” an opinion shows the progression of the children growing up by connecting it to their ideas. The way in which judge Piggy based on physical features could be seen as prejudice. But the act of the boys deciding that Piggy is an “outsider” becomes an act of savageness. In the way that the boys are thinking for survival and their natural being, thinking that Piggy would not be in a good position to survive or help the rest of the boys survive.
I walk about another mile and found an empty car that looked like it was in an accident, it had no doors, so i decided to sleep there. It was hard to sleep knowing you could be attacked at any second. I didn't do too much sleeping, so by morning I was drained of energy. I started a new journey, I was looking for any shelter. I found a small cot and approached the door, I as soon as I open the door twelve zombies come rushing out. I turn and run, I trip in a hole and drop my gun. I reach into my bag and grab the other pistol he gave me. I aim for the head, watching zombies one by one hit the ground. I ran back to pick up the gun I dropped and keep moving. I have food but no water, so I build a fire to eat. I’m lucky the food is moist and used the water from the fruits he gave me. I’m worried I might not last another
It was one of the worst experiences I could have ever imagined.I lost my home,my job,I didn't know where I was anymore, and worst of all,I lost my family.I set out to find some survivors, but there were none to be found. All I saw was bodies.Bodies on top of bodies on top of bodies, but no one who survived.I’ve been searching for about two hours,or maybe I was hallucinating from when I was unconscious.I thought to myself “What am I going to do,I’ve got no food,no shelter,or light, and it was starting to get pretty dark.” When I thought all hope was gone,I finally found a group of survivors.
Running, but that's all I ever do. Coming upon a cave, but I look up to see a dark figure whisper and let me in. Cold like ice, and pitch black full of whispering and laughing, but I turn around to be chained up. I can’t move or speak, till the lights turn on, but oh that tiny little light full of brightness. I look up quickly as the chains moved to see that there were stairs leading into the dark, but something was laughing. A laugh that bounced off the walls of the gray cave and sent shivers down your spine whenever you heard it's laugh. I try getting up, but couldn’t because of how frozen from fear I was. I stood shocked, scared, cold, and feared the dark creature in the dark shadows. It kept motioning me over, trying to get me to talk,
“You can do anything you put your mind to” Why does she keep coming back to me when I let her go. I couldn't think of a reason,so I Let it out. I let a tear show. I promised myself that I would try not to but for some reason I break all the promises I make. It amazed me that I was still moving.
