The Hunger Games: Now Called Panem

The Hunger Games takes place in the ruins of a nation once known as North America that is now called Panem. There are twelve districts in Panem including the Capital and what used to be district thirteen before it was destroyed in the uprising. District twelve, in charge of the coal industry, is where the main characters Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark belongs. District twelve is known for being the poorest of all the districts so Katniss is known in the district for her amazing hunting skills when it comes to a bow and arrow. Seventy four years before the novels plot a rebellion or uprising occurred, because of this uprising the Capital created the hunger games as a punishment to remind the people of the Capitals power. So every year there

This is where Cinna and Portia are introduced into the story. Cinna being Katniss's stylist and Portia being Peeta's Stylist. Cinna dressing Katniss in a black unitard complimented by a headdress and cape, later katniss finds Peeta in the stables wearing the same outfit. When they get on there chariot Cinna and Portia lights there uniforms with some type of synthetic fire. Katniss and Peeta hold hands as they ride their way through the streets to amaze the crowd and draw attention to themselves.

The chariots then take them to the Training Center, this Is where they will stay until game day. This is where they train in a underground gym until the Gamemakers

Eleven out of twelve are dead and she nearly dies of thirst, she suspects that because she has no water yet is because the gamemakers can see she is near water. She finally finds a small pond and besides to get some rest. The next morning she awakes to find a fire created by the gamemakers, she gets severely burned in the process of running away from the fire. The next morning she is chased by 6 people including Peeta she eventually finds refuge in a tree that they cant climbed because of the tree not supporting there weight, this is where one of the sponsors send her some burn cream. They settled there and fall asleep until morning when Rue appears in a tree near to Katniss. Rue then points out to Katniss a Tracker jacker nest above the people after her, Katniss quickly cuts down the nest killing 2 and making the others flee from her. Katniss scores a Bow and a few arrows in the process of this, and takes several days to recover from the tracker jackers
