Jesus Christ, the figure who changed history more than any other, did many miracles to show others that he was God's son. God gave Jesus power over nature, power over disease, and even power over death. As a young Christian, my knowledge was a little understudied, to say the least. Now, as this module comes to a close, I realize that I have learned so much! While writing this summary paper, I intend to discuss my understanding of the historical Jesus, Jesus as the Messiah, and Jesus as the Personal Savior.
About two thousand years ago God arranged the most humiliating circumstances possible for his incarnation into humanity. Jesus was born to a teenage virgin named Mary and her husband Joseph.
The Annunciation is the revelation to Mary by the angel, Gabriel that she would conceive a child to be born the Son of God (Wikipedia, 2006). Although Mary was a virgin, Gabriel told her that God's power would make the conception possible.
The biblical account of the Annunciation is in the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke, 26-56. Luke describes the annunciation given by the angel Gabriel to Mary that she was to become the mother of the Incarnation of God. The Annunciation took place in Nazareth in the sixth month after the conception of John the Baptist by Elizabeth. Gabriel took the form of a man and greeted Mary telling her that she was favored by God and to not be scared. Mary questioned the revelation knowing that she had vowed her virginity to God. The angel reassured her and told her about the conception of John the Baptist, the miraculous pregnancy of her cousin, Elizabeth, now old and sterile (New Advent, 2006).
Gabriel also made a visit to Zacharias, Elizabeth's husband. He explained that they would have a son...

...e in Jesus and will be baptized, then that person will be saved. If that person does not believe in Jesus, then that person will be condemned.
Jesus has prepared the way of salvation for all who will believe and obey Him. Jesus has made everything ready so that we can be saved. He gave His life on the cross of Calvary paying the price for our redemption. If we are going to have Jesus as our personal savior, then we must listen only to Him. It is through the teachings of Jesus Christ, His gospel, that we will be saved. The only way to know Jesus is to know the Jesus found within the pages of the Word of God, the Bible.
In conclusion, I have developed a true understanding of the Historical Jesus, Jesus as Messiah, and Jesus the Personal Savior. This experience will continue to help me to build on my own relationship with Jesus Christ as my Personal Savior.
According to the bible if a women is with child, but is also untouched, then the child is a son of God. It was a miracle that Mary became impregnated with Jesus; it was a miracle that Mrs. Meany became impregnated with Owen. Both children are thus marked, and become a tool of God.
One of the key scenes that is taken from Luke is Mary’s visit from Gabriel (Holy Bible: King James Version, Luke 1: 26 -37) Mary is sitting under a tree when Gabriel appears to her as a man dressed in white. Gabriel begins to speak telling her that she has “found favour with God” and that she “will give birth to a son and will call his name Jesus.” As in Luke Mary asks how this is possible as she has been with no man. Gabriel then explains to her that the Holy Spirit will come upon her and that the child will be the son of God. He also tells her of her cousin Elizabeth’s pregnancy, and then states “For nothing said by God is impossible.” Mary then proceeds to kneel before Gabriel and says “Let it be done to me according to your word.”
The ability to create a picture of The Annunciation in one’s mind is a key factor in understanding the analysis of the work. Francisco de Zurbaran approaches the painting with a naturalistic style. The painting features a room in which a woman – like angel is seen at the left kneeling on the ground before the Virgin Mary. The figure of Mary is placed between a chair and a small wooden table draped with a green cloth. Mary disregards an open Bible on the table, as she appears solemn while staring at the floor. Floating above the two main figures in the upper left side of the painting are cherubs resting on a bed of clouds. They happily gaze down at Mary with eyes from Heaven.
Mary watched her child as Jesus traveled the country , and taught others about Christ. She had a sense of discernment that authorities and others were intimidating by his teachings. The Jewish authorities were in a difficult situation. They were trying to maintain a balance to the stable nature in their community , but saw Jesus as a threat. The situation grew worse overtime , and led the community to prosecute Jesus in the city of Jerusalem. He was taken into custory , presented a trial , and nailed to the cross.
From birth, Jesus of Nazareth was known to be special, something the world had never seen. The legendary birth, his mother being the Virgin Mary, that night in the manger in Bethlehem presented the world with the man who would become known as the Messiah, the one who, according to Christianity, would rescue the world and offer it everlasting life. Jesus knew of his calling and his holy purpose on Earth. While Mary and her husband, Joseph, a carpenter, raised Jesus as a child, much is not known of the early life of Jesus through scripture, or accounted for through historical evidence. It is not...

My family taught me about Jesus at a young age, so I always knew I wanted to have a close relationship with him. Knowing that God is going to have my back no matter what was the best feeling to me. He will never leave a person or turn his back on them. The fact that the Bible guides people is one of the amazing things to me because one scripture can change a person whole life. My discourse community teaches a person about faith, love, and everything a person will ever need in life. Jesus encourages people, and supports people when they fail. Being a Christian motivates me and gives me a meaning of life. Being saved is easy, but the hard part is following his guidelines. He knows people are going to make a lot of mistakes in life, but the fact that he doesn’t judge them is amazing. Accepting Christ means a person has escaped that judgment and therefore they will have external life. Being a part of this discourse community has brought me to a new place in life, and for that I am

There are several aspects to consider when exploring the Christian worldview. There are many facets or denominations and they each have their own distinct beliefs and practices, but they all share the same fundamental beliefs. In this Paper we will explore the character of God, His creation, humanity and its nature, Jesus’ significance to the world, and the restoration of humanity, as well as my beliefs and the way that I interact with Christianity and my personal worldview.
The birth narrative of Luke begins with the announcement of the birth of John, whose mother was Elizabeth. An angel came to Zechariah, Elizabeth?s husband and the angel said that his son John would be in great sight of the Lord that he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even in his mother womb and he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. In the sixth month the angel Gabriel...
events leading to the birth of Jesus including the concept of virginal conception of Mary. Sura Maryam of the Quran specifically talks about this virginal conception
“Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” According to both the religions, Mary, who was a virgin and betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, was considered to be the ‘most blessed’ among all women. “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God…..How shall this be, since I have no husband?” The archangel Gabriel tells Mary that she is going to have a baby and that she should name the child Jesus. Despite the fact that she is very young and a virgin, she does not disbelieve the angel. She has no fear of what the society would think, she just wants to understand more about her pregnancy, however she has no doubt. Th...
Jesus is one of the most influential historical figures in our society. Not only is he the foundation of one of the largest global religions but he is also the basis of various different religious interpretations. There are various different interpretations of Jesus but something that remains constant is that his deeds, words and impact were extraordinary. The study of Jesus is known as Christology. It is an in depth analysis of the various aspects of Jesus that includes synthesising his actions, words, attributes, and nature and impact on society at the time.
His book presents three main perspectives on Christology (biblical, historical, and contemporary). He attempts to combine classical views and contextual views of Christology.
"We cannot indeed overestimate the importance of the fact that Jesus' redeeming influence on the world-all that has induced men to call Him Lord and Savior-owes to His humanity at once its individual and its social power, and is complete with the com...
